When I put my laptop to sleep, websites I am logged into are often logged out when I return. Note that I don't close Firefox. The tabs generally reopen but require login again. Windows 11, Firefox 137.0.1

For example, I put my laptop to sleep for lunch. When I returned, tabs were there, but I was logged out of gmail, Discord, and a website I was logged into.

This seems to happen more frequently recently, but not every time, as far as I know. But this is a relatively new problem, possibly related to a new laptop. Occasionally I get a message that there is trouble restoring my session.

Possible Causes:

   1. Session Management: Some websites have session timeouts for security reasons. If your laptop goes to sleep for an extended period, the session may expire, requiring you to log in again.
   2. Browser Settings: Firefox may have settings that affect how sessions are managed when the computer goes to sleep.
   3. Power Settings: Your laptop's power settings may be configured in a way that affects how applications, including browsers, handle sleep mode.
   4. Cookies and Cache: If cookies are not being saved properly, it can lead to being logged out of websites.
   5. New Laptop Configuration: If this is a new laptop, there may be settings or configurations that differ from your previous setup.

Solutions to Try: 1. Check Firefox Settings:

       ◦ Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
       ◦ Under "Cookies and Site Data," ensure that "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is not checked.
       ◦ Make sure that "Accept cookies and site data from websites" is enabled.

2. Adjust Power Settings:

       ◦ Go to Settings > System > Power & battery.
       ◦ Check your sleep settings and ensure that they are set to a reasonable duration. You might want to adjust the settings for when the laptop is plugged in and when it’s on battery.

3. Disable Hardware Acceleration:

       ◦ Go to Settings > General.
       ◦ Scroll down to the "Performance" section and uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available."

4. Clear Cookies and Cache:

       ◦ Sometimes, clearing cookies and cache can resolve session issues. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data.

5. Check for Extensions:

       ◦ Some extensions can interfere with session management. Disable any extensions you have installed and see if the problem persists.

6. Test in Safe Mode:

       ◦ Restart Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. Click on the menu button, go to Help, and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

7. Update Firefox:

       ◦ Ensure you are using the latest version of Firefox. Go to the menu, select Help, and then About Firefox to check for updates.

8. Check for Windows Updates:

       ◦ Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date, as updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

9. Consider Session Restore Settings:

       ◦ If you receive messages about trouble restoring your session, it may be worth checking your session restore settings. Go to Settings > General and look for the "Startup" section to ensure it’s set to "Open tabs from the previous session."
