Custom background for the default homepage?

Just moved from a certain other browser and I'm still not familiar with the things here, is it possible to change the background for the default homepage? I know you can do it with extensions and stuff but I would prefer the default homepage to be customizable so it doesn't have more things to load when I launch the browser

This is currently unavailable by default in Firefox but may be something that is included in a future update.
