Is there a way to force ALL links (in Gmail) to open in a new tab?
From searching the forum, I understand that links that do not specify a target window always open in the same tab.
Other than holding the Control key down when left-clicking the link, or right-clicking and having to choose "open in a new tab", is there a way to FORCE all links (in Gmail) to always open in a new tab (in either options or preferences)?
In my about:preferences I have browser. link. open_newwindow parameter set to 3 (which I understand does not help for links that don't specify a target window).
In my settings for Tabs, I have check boxes enabled for Open Links in Tabs Instead of New Windows and also for Switch to New Tab Immediately. Neither works for links that do not specify a target window.
It seems to me (and I may be wrong) that Firefox ALWAYS previously opened ALL my Gmail links in a new tab, regardless of whether they specified a target (or not). So, I'm suspecting I may have inadvertently changed a setting to cause this behavior?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated as this current behavior (i. e., clicking a link in an email message overwriting Gmail in the current tab and bringing up the clicked link) is a real nuisance. Thanks.
