Hello, I am on a MacBook Pro I was facing some issue with Firefox , which did not go even after refresh , so I decided to reinstall I used Appcleaner to uninstall Firefox , including the saved state and plist file.However , after uninstallation , I noticed there were some files under Library~Caches and Library~Application Support.I deleted these files by mistake . I would like to know if deleting these files would affect Firefox if I reinstall it Thanks in advance

What issue(s) did you have with Firefox ?

Note that you can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile in case a refresh isn't working (a refresh can possibly carry over some issues).

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder.

Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files (Local Directory on about:profiles).

  • ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>

This may seem like a basic question , but I am asking because I felt Firefox was not as fast or responsive as before, and scrolling felt sluggish , so I attempted a reinstall by deleting all the Firefox files I could find . Still experiencing the speed problem , that’s why I have a question if deleting those files could affect when I reinstall

It looks like you also removed the profile data. If so, Firefox will create a new one.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
