How to add section on new tab page?

The title basically says it all already. In the documentation of the new tab page it tells you how to remove them, but not how to add them. There should be a way however. For some reason, the pocket suggestions disappeared from my new tab page, and I haven't found a way to get them back. I know from another machine that under settings there should be a check box that you can tick to enable or disable pocket suggestions on the new tab page, but on the system in question, this option is simply not there. How to fix?
