I open a page and want to copy the URL to send it to someone or post it as a reference on another page. When I do, a whole lot of excess text gets added to the URL. Here, for example: This page, which I found mentioned at Facebook and wanted to reference: https://www.wired.com/story/major-hydroxychloroquine-trial-shows-no-prevention-benefits/ Becomes when I copy the link, this gobbledygook: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwired.trib.al%2F6bcoq04%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR1XyuMgCbdhNr4vjgEXQ0jb8TLwAVmAqFuWe9f_spz__BlgVocyrKOoWQk&h=AT0hn0p5tOTaMVNdV4zCsts4zy2N67rhFR1I21Oh0oD9Ue9n0ceuH3QRbKypRSFQstx7Yv5fik45MGC2EplSNzl7Z_F7Mur7aQBXzZFAgcElTS7Hg4g3rfCU2n-7MudirzHXxAqYadvTPQ2wUTj-CmIqq-C-l1ka1MoICL-ulU0OTmk-sgZL3kQqwZhGqBYR2iPd7UWgYh3OV-pyftBUl4jlFkV3TX03i8RwS5hBEV_9AdegwSoa8PDgk3U7hZyoYqdkJ9d6rtEwK0nGKtUE61UXW536BlWuN0JflXkw4t6YrWI108kK83c6PYQCr3wcSaG6tjJvmaxyLHugeWbaVajwLTj4Zbk7s68fciIjps11a7vbqNVaXoLn3UiFCC7JC2Hz9DGw-Sw76P_-ljjImAjWu0NsGGtKJkeSM_MEb6fVU4QRiFXsJrMkCUNfDDJjT5joHMEWqRge3m8uy_FbjGvTTUnNvlOZzbFFn1si2oJN04-bd2IiAkfftl9O6-1GhKgyNjl04BQKOUBk4oojr1AJuHfAWAm0j4Xgf3PBp0JENb3GMedFWtkWpeUYedGIxXMrIYSXRtifCMgSh1VtLGWKi07WjU1WJ2GqkBoWjM9E-SBquoLEu_7PMY_xO4-x

What you could do is mark the test, then copy it (not copy link).

Hi Hank, this seems similar to how Google search results links change to tracking links when you "mouse down" on them.

If you have the patience to load the link, you could copy the final destination URL from the address bar.

There also are extensions for cleaning links to remove this kind of tracking change, but I don't have any experience with Facebook cleaners (only a Google link cleaner).

Thanks for that suggestion, it helped me search and I'm looking at several of them.
