Firefox has stopped working in Windows 8.1
I currently run Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I upgraded to Firefox 73 a couple of days ago, and now when I open Firefox, I immediately get an error box and the message that "Firefox has stopped working". I have uninstalled Firefox, rebooted my laptop and reinstalled Firefox, but get the same results. I also uninstalled 3 Microsoft KB updates that ran on the day that Firefox initially failed. Nothing seems to fix the problem. I also run Google Chrome, and have not issues with it. Here are the details of the problem: Problem signature:

Hi Keith:
Sorry that it's crashing for you!
I believe this will be fixed in Firefox 73.0.1. which is currently scheduled to be released Tuesday February 18. In the meantime you can try Firefox 74 beta which I believe has a fix for your problem: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
Cheers!

Hi Keith, sorry to hear about this problem, and thank you for the crash info. A BEX error is a memory violation, sometimes indicating a malware infection, sometimes indicating that protective software that hooks into applications didn't work as intended.
Some security software is incompatible with Firefox 73. Problems have been confirmed with 0patch Agent and GDATA, and we may learn of more. Do you use either of those?
I do not use neither 0patch Agent nor GDATA.
