A bit nervous about establishing a new Thunderbird server and transferring all folders/emails/attachments from old to new on a Mac

I have had Thunderbird for a long time and have accumulated 1000's of emails and attachments - probably about 40GB worth. I would like to move from one hosting server to another but I'm not sure how to do that efficiently. I have Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro laptop. There is a program to do this for a PC but not for a MAC that I have found so far. Any suggestions on how to get this done so I do not lose all my hard work. I currently have everything under a POP account. Thanks.

You should back up your Profile on your MacBook Pro and transfer the Profile Folder onto a 64 GB USB Memory Stick so you will be able to Restore that Profile - and All of the messages and attachments - to a new TB install on a new machine.

Here's the Page you need to look at: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data About your Profile Folder. And this might help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer Moving Thunderbird to a New Computer.
