New firefox installed and now my Thunderbird address books are empty

was asked to install new (or revised) Firefox about 3-4 days ago (today is 18 June),I did so and re-registered my Thunderbird email program. I used it today and find my address book is empty.The inbox etc does not appear affected. Also one of my folders has disappeared from my desktop and I haven't been able to find it
