what does some addons have been disabled mean?

more options

Every once in a while I'll get a yellow bar across the top of whatever website I'm on, claiming that an addon has been disabled, stopped working or is not compatable. It has a link to see what the problem is and this page is the one attached to this.

It displays no missing addons and the link to fix it is as not helpful as it just takes me to the addon homepage rather than the page for the replacement/updated addon.

Getting very bored of it now as it happens about once or twice a month and has been happening for several months. If it told me which addon was bust I could at least have a clue of what to look for but with zero addon listed as broken/missing/not compatible or whatever this is clearly impossible!

I wish I was a computer nerd but I'm not so, any helpful and jargon and code free suggestions welcome.

Many thanks.

Here's the missing screen image.

Legacy extensions are those that aren't compatible with Quantum Firefox 57 and later versions of Firefox. I suppose you get that message with every Firefox update, when Firefox checks compatibility of all installed extensions. Unfortunately there is no way to directly remove Legacy Extensions, that I have seen posted. And I haven't seen that message myself as I created a new Profile for Firefox 57 when I first installed it; too many extensions that I had installed couldn't be updated, so I just started from scratch by installing new compatible extensions from the onset rather than get frustrated for an update that I just knew wasn't going to happen.

Hi Ambergriff, thank you for the screenshot.

Possibly some software on your computer wants to add an extension to Firefox when it updates or at some other interval, so that could be triggering Firefox to show you a message about it.

If you tap the link to view the legacy extensions, or use that last item in the left column, you can see what it is and maybe that will help track down its source.
