Firefox crashed, I have my folder on my desktop, but moving it to the %APPDATA%-etc folder doesnt help (it still can't find my profile) - what do I do?

So, Firefox chrased, it cant find my profile it claims.

A folder have appeard on my Desktop (Gammal Firefox-data; thats Swedish for "Old Firefox-data"), so that seems to be my old profile.

I tried just moving it to the %APPDATA%\Mozille\Firefox\Profiles-folder, but that did not help.

So what should I do now?

Never work with original files, always work with copies of it if is important.... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile

Note that if you move the complete profile folder that you need to edit profiles.ini or sue the Profile Manager to register this copied profile.

Otherwise you need to copy specific files to the current profile folder to recover this data as posted above.
