when I'm on Facebook firefox ver 49.0.1 will randomly crash with a blank black screen and a blue border, sometimes the screen flashes but stays blank. I can exit firefox using the red X in the corner of screen; I restart firefox and it starts as normal with a blank tab. I have crash reporter turned on but it never seems catch these crashes. Crash reporter did catch 1 instance of this problem and I sent the details and crash report to mozilla I still haven't gotten a reply.

I have tried: completely remove and reinstall Firefox 49.0.1 from a "fresh copy" scanned my system for viruses, adware, malware with several different scanners no problems found by any of them. reinstalled system hardware / video drivers - no change.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

System: Custom built in MSI mid tower all steel case. MB: ASROCK H81M-HDS w/ newest BIOS and drivers avaliable CPU: Intel Core i3 RAM: 8GB DDR3 "Ballistix" by Crucial HDD: 2 - 1TB, 3.5" sata drives ODD: 2 - DVD-RW sata drives Power Supply: 600W - ATX by Eagle

all of this seems to have started when Firefox updated to 49.0

attached image is what my screen looks like when the crash occurs

Hello,

In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Thank you!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

I have about the same problem with Firefox 50.0.2 on Windows 10, although it started an update or two ago. Occasionally, all open tabs and windows go blank or black. Firefox doesn't crash. If I open a new tab or window, it is also blank or black. If I shut down firefox and restart, the same pages are OK again. The failure is random, sometimes a few times in one day, sometimes not at all in one day. A URL that usually is fine will suddenly fail without warning.
