I am suddenly getting a proxy error that prevents me from browsing and the proxy settings are greyed out so I cannot change them.

I just moved and have a lot of things to do online with changing addresses and filling out forms. For whatever reason though, after my first day at my new apartment, I am getting an error saying something about my proxy settings. So, I went to the "Options" page, clicked "advanced" and "Network," and then the "settings" page with the proxy options. However, this page is all greyed out and I can't select other options than the default "use system proxy settings." Obviously this isn't working for me. I need it to. Any advice?

Separate issue; update your Adobe software.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

@FredMcD, please clarify for me, what is a separate issue? It's one issue. Proxy error message upon opening firefox, thus not letting me browse. I go to try to change proxy settings in response to proxy error and am unable to do so.

Also, which Adobe software are you referring to?

Thanks!

Separate as in, a different subject.

All of them.
