Example: when I am on a page in ebay or another site and want to go to the next page I get a timeout error message and have to reset the page. This is very frustrating. Can I change the timeout setting somewhere? I could not find any place in "options" to do this.

If you are on a weak internet connection, there is a timeout feature that you can change, however there can also be a timeout on the serverside that you cannot control, however it is normally reasonable.

  1. Type about:config in the afddress bar and look for

network.http.request.timeout (300 seconds = 5 minutes )
