Firefox crashes
Hi, I have started to get crashes every few minutes. They started recently and I did not do any changes to the system. Here is an example of the crash report https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/2f270314-5a13-4a65-b1cd-10d332150425 It looks that it is caused by Cisco VPN, so I disabled this service. However, crashes still happen. I am running out of options what to do and would appreciate your help.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Thanks a lot Mark for detailed instruction! I have tried this already earlier, and it does not help.
It looks that the problem has disappeared on its own now. I suspect that it was some communication issue with the wireless network of a university I am in. It happened on the weekend, when apparently no admin was there, but the next working day the problem was not there.
The crash report does not show what the cause of the crash was.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
