Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

• Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

• On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
• On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
• On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
  (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

The issues are still present in Safe Mode. I went ahead and reset Firefox just to see if that would help. It didn't. I have done everything I know (I'm not that computer savvy), so at this point I have no idea what else to try.

Hello, If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.

Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list. If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain. Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above" Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

All of that stuff is like it's supposed to be, set to default. I also don't have any extensions that block images.

It could be possible that Firefox, an add-on of Firefox, or a program on your computer (Firewalls, antiviruses, etc) is blocking images from the Twitter image server. Twitter itself is located at Twitter.com, but if a tweet is posted with an image, the image is located at pbs.twimg.com. Click here and tell me if you see an image.

And just to clarify, can you see NO images at all, or do some tweets display images correctly? Are you referring to these images?: http://s21.postimg.org/69l8a7l53/image.png

Firewalls or add-ons can be ruled out because the images load in Chrome and entering Safe Mode which disables all add-ons didn't fix the problem. If we can't figure out what's wrong with Firefox, I'd say that you should go for a refresh, or if refreshing Firefox doesn't fix the problem, try a complete reinstall:

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
   • Windows:
     • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
   • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
   • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
   1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
   2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

I can see that pic you linked to.

No, I can see pics in tweets, I can't see them inside DM itself. I can tell that there is a picture there because there is a tiny dot where the picture is supposed to be. And the trends are stretched out single file at the bottom of the page when I open up a single tweet.

I'll try the Clean Reinstall and get back to you.

I do not believe that plug-ins are related to the issue this person is having. Images should display correctly without a plug-in.

Oh, sorry! I have been thinking that you were talking about tweets, not direct messages.

Can you give me a screenshot of what a DM with an image looks like on your screen? Press Print Screen on your keyboard which will paste a screenshot into the clipboard, paste into Paint and save the image, then upload that image to postimg.org and share the link. Thanks!

I've noticed that if you upload an image to a DM conversation and don't type anything before clicking "Send Message", the message will glitch and the image won't appear on the sender's or the recipients' screens. Is this what's happening to you?

I can see pics that I send, I just can't see pics that someone else sends. Let me ask them to send me one without typing anything and one with typing something, and I'll let you know what happens.

I'm using a laptop, so no mobile.

Mine looks like this:

But the trends stretching out is when I open a tweet. You know, where you click on the time/date of the tweet and it pulls up the tweet itself? At the bottom of that page is where it's stringing the trends out.
