Whenever I'm in a call using firefox, an small logo shows up with a microphone icon next to it. Now it's stuck even when I'm not on a call. How can I remove it?
I have searched all over to find information on this microphone icon that appears when I'm in a call. I have found no information on it or how to disable it.
It blocks the view of my tabs at the top and can only be slid left to right across the tabs. As of today, even when a call has ended, the icon remains there. There is no way to exit it. I have to close out Firefox after every call to get it to go away.
I'm using a custom built PC, with Windows 7 x64. Firefox is the latest version and I have never seen this before. -This does not happen on my work mac mini, but firefox might be one version behind.
I have asked Firefox twitter support twice on the issue. The first time they had no reply except "maybe ask the forums?" and the second time there was no response.

Hey Fred. Yes it was. The calls are disconnected. Closing the page itself or site that the calls are handled through does not make the icon go away. (Last week it did go away when ending a call.) The entire day today I had to close firefox completely for it to go away.
I added that information in just to provide as much detail as possible, but the main point is that it needs to go completely even when I'm using the mic. Hopefully somebody knows of the solution, and thank you for helping!

I am also not entirely familiar with this icon, however I am happy to help investigate this:
- If you click on the microphone, do any pop ups asking for permissions to use the device stay open?
- Is there an add on in Firefox that is used to make calls?
- What is being used to make calls? Firefox Hello? An add on, a third party software?
If it is one website providing a service please check the permissions to the microphone with the Page Info Window: Firefox Page Info window

The icon can only be slide left to right. There are no options. If you click on it, it only brings up the Firefox pop up to allow or deny the microphone. Of course you have to allow in order to use the mic in the browser.
I'm using Zendesk for our company. This does not happen in any other browsers on my PC, or Firefox on my mac mini.
Likewise, I like it. This was the expected design, please also mention this url in input.mozilla.org.
