How do I disable the donation webpage that opens (in Thunderbird) automatically?

A common suggestion is to disable the start page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1226585 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1520014 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1515838 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1507571 That option is already unchecked.

Some seem to be suggesting that this page opens when an update happens: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1512477 There was no update installed lately.

My folders are no longer in alphabetical order. Yesterday when I signed off for the day, everything was per usual without any issues. This morning when I logged in, I noticed I had one random folder out of order. I restarted the program and when it reopened, the top 250 or so folders were all out of order.

I have restarted a few times, confirmed I am using the latest version (144.0.1), tried repairing the main folder (they are all subfolders), tried clearing cache, tried the "reset folder order" option, compacted the folder, literally everything I could find, with no success.

I use Thunderbird for work and have a folder for each project, I haven't counted every single one, but it is realistically over 1000 folders in total, yet only the top 250 (starting at zero, goes back to normal at the letter D) are affected. It would take far too long to manually correct/re-sort each affected folder, especially when I'm not confident it won't happen again.

I attached a couple of reference photos, but don't want to risk disclosing sensitive information, so hopefully they are clear enough to see the issue.

I am a newer Thunderbird user (a little over a year) and have never had this issue before. Does anyone have any other ideas on possible solutions that I could try?

(also, I have the Thunderbird installed on a few other devices connected to the same account and verified those are normal, it's only my main PC that is affected at the moment)

am i dreaming or did there used to be more buttons in the customise toolbar for thunderbird.

I downloaded 144.0.1 (64-bit) today and in the customize toolbar buttons I cannot find the seperator line to put between buttons ¦ and I wonder if the developers can make a separate 'mark as read' and 'mark as unread' button instead of just 'read' button with a pull down? and the flexible space can you not adjust the width of the adjustable space , why is it fixed?

I have 1 computer that shows bars at the top and left side that I like. The one at the top shows Get messages, Delete, Reply, Reply All, and a few more items. The one on the left side shows icons that are for Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Tasks, and Chat. I have another computer that doesn't have those bars. I have attached a screen shot from that computer. Both are running T'bird 140.4.0esr (64-bit) and both are Win 11 machines. I've tried everything I can see to get the 2 bars to appear on the 2nd computer. I hope someone can tell me how to get them to show up. Thanks, Mike

I've read some of the support topics about the super narrow scroll bars in Thunderbird. I did go to: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/comments/1fz9f5j/comment/lr02b8z/

which was suggested. I did the fix, which helped one problem (the super narrow scroll bar size), but there are no up & down arrows on the scroll bar. This was a really helpful feature. Is there any way to get the arrows back? The screenshot shows how TB looks in Windows 10. That's exactly what I want the scroll bars to look like.

I'm using Thunderbird 140.4.0esr (64-bit) on Linux (Zorin Pro 17) on a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon.

Q1 How do option 1 and option 4 differ exactly?

Q2 What will option 5 do exactly. Would it be the same as option 4 but also allow future, currently unknown <website>, for emails from the same <email address>?

I am running Thunderbird 140.4.0esr (64-bit) on an iMac running macOS Sonoma 14.7.4. I have two email accounts on it, one my university account and one gmail. I have over 500 Local Folders used to keep track of my personal matters, correspondence and tax preparation matters. In the past three or four weeks, during which I updated my Tbird at least once, the Local Folders have become no longer alphabetized and at least one folder I can no longer find. I appears that the most recently used folders are moved to an alphabetized set at the end of my original set. It also appears that the list of folders differs slightly depending on which account from which the list is viewed. Why is this happening and how can I solve it?

Just loaded this program and it is great, easy to use and set up. After saying that, I cannot work out how to put the display into columns with the inbox on the left, email next to that and then the email body on the right. I hope that this is clear enough. I have been testing the new EWS support for thunderbird using version 144.0.1. My account needs the option `experimental.mail.ews.overrideOAuth.enabled` set to `true` to specify specific OAuth2 values (Application ID, Tenant ID,...). I see that receiving emails is OK (although the OAUth2 login page is popped up all the time and immediately hidden again, for every email I select, but maybe I have something weird because this is just a test).

But I cannot send emails using that account. My feeling is the advanced overrideOAuth configuration is not used for the sending/outgoing server. Just for the incoming server part. Am I alright? Is there anyway of setting this overrideOAuth values for the outgoing sending server?

I have tested the same with evolution and I can receive and send emails. So I'm pretty sure that the outgoing part can work when using the correct overridden OAuth2 values.

on my laptop I must have changed something because now I don't see the end of the messages with the "bar" that allows me to delete and shows me a copy of the e:mail.

Don't know what I changed to make that disappear, but I want it back!

So many emails require me to scroll to the right to finish reading one line, back to the left for the next, etc. They hurt my head, they take fireever to read, and they hurt my right arm too. Thunderbird used to have an option to wrap messages, but it looks like it was deleted.

I tried adding the following tom my user css:

   margin-left: 45pt !important;
   max-width: 900px !important;
   margin-right: 45pt !important;

}

The margin-left works. It gives a spacer between the message pane and the folder list.

The max-width and margin-right don't work. The messages still require horizontal scrolling, and the scrollbar shifts left, right up against the text, so it doesn't give the needed spacer.

I use the spacers to avoid the parallax-induced migraines.

Is there a way to allow all remote content automatically in all of my emails without having to click on options. I get over a 100 emails a day and it is too time consuming to have to click on options for each one. Thank You James

When reading received Emails, I try to use the combination of the 'ctrl' and the '+' key's, --by default will not work until/unless I first use one of the View\Zoom sub-menu item's. By comparison, while 'composing' or 'replying', the combination of the 'ctrl' plus '+' key's will work by default.

This has always been the case for the past year; if not longer.

I have two profile, one profile showing with edit message as draft 2nd profile not showing EDIT MESSAGE AS DRAFT

So my concern is that in Ist profile i d'nt need with EDIT MESSAGE AS DRAFT since every email i click it is showing This is draft message WHICH I DON'T NEED, HOW TO DISABLE.

I can´t change the color of a Message I am composing in Thunderbird 140.2esr, on Ubuntu 24.04. Using the tools to pick up color, as well as the Format (menu), does not change the color of the selected text to the selected color. How may I repair that.
