Thunderbird lost all my profiles and emails

When I opened Thunderbird, I get the Account Setup page and my 5 accounts all all my emails are missing. I read to go to Help > Troubleshoot Mode > Reset toolbars and controls but under Help I only have the options of Get involved, Mozzilla Connect and Get the Beta. There is no Troubleshoot Mode. I need to urgently get work emails. Please advise what to do step by step. Thanks.
