I can't find a sync button under settings.
Why was the quit button removed? How am I supposed to quit the app properly to ensure cache and cookies are cleaned upon exit?

I can get the website to load again by choosing exit in Firefox to clear out all my data, then re-opening Firefox and logging in from scratch.
It will just hang on load screen, usually what you see before data begins to load.
I can reproduce it by removing Firefox from recents, then launching it again and re-opening the existing tab, or even a new one.

I run 30-40 tabs. Sometimes when I switch to a tab it is no longer on the page I left it at. It is one page back in the tabs history. When I first switch to the tab the URL is briefly correct, and it's as of the Back button was hit. Forward is not an available option.
It does not consistently happen, or I would have better repro steps. Maybe it has to do with the tab being loaded out of memory?
This has been going on for a while now, a few months at least. I figured it would be fixed with subsequent updates but not yet, I have also had no luck searching for anyone else experiencing this bug.

I checked about:config in both Beta and Nightly and HW acceleration was enabled. This was true for a FRESH install as well. I tried this on other devices and the problem persists. Mull, which is a fork of Fennec, plays the same videos without any problems. Other browsers are also fine.
