Stop new tabs from opening from search screen

I've been reusing android firefox again lately and I noticed I would have a bunch of tabs at a time. Then I realized that it was because whenever I would click a shortcut… (자세히 살펴보기)

I've been reusing android firefox again lately and I noticed I would have a bunch of tabs at a time. Then I realized that it was because whenever I would click a shortcut from the search screen it would open the page in a new tab instead of staying on the current tab. Is there a way to change this?

Hello. 

Every time I click on my shortcuts, a new tab opens.  Opened tabs accumulate during the day and cause the browser to slow down.

Is it possible for me to open shortcuts on the same page without opening different tabs?

For example: When I click on the twitter shortcut from the login page while on the Facebook page, is it possible to enter Twitter on the same page without opening a new tab?
