My browser keeps on notresponding when visiting social sites
when i try to open social networking sites and some open source sites the browser stops responding and i have to shut down the process to restart

Try Removing either Adblock Edge or Adblock Plus, they are about the same thing. And check out Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox and Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox.
