I only get "The connection was reset" error message for several sites.

My Belkin router suddenly wouldn't connect to the internet. Then, connecting to net via direct ethernet cable, I couldn't access belkin.com or McAfee support site or even connect to my Belkin router setup page via its numerical address. Always get "The connection was reset" message. These won't open using IE 9, either, so it's not just a Firefox issue. All other websites appear to open without a problem.

I've tried many fixes: Belkin support after long troubleshooting says something is blocking the site; McAfee said to reload the software. I've also: --cleared cache and cookies and browsing history --made sure Firefox, IE and Windows had all updates --run McAfee, Kaspersky virus scans and Windows Malicious Software Removal, along with Adware removal --run Firefox in safe mode with all extensions off --cleared SSL state --tried to load the pages with Firewall turned off --even run System Restore back to when things worked --performed Clean Restart with Windows --reinstalled Java

All other sites load correctly, it seems, apart from these two tech sites where I need support. (McAfee home pages load, just not McAfee support pages. However even Belkin homepage won't load.)

Running Windows 7, IE 9 and Firefox 7.0.1

Widows Updates downloaded a Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.113.631.0) shortly before the problems began. Could there be a link?

Any ideas?
