When I log in to my Apple tv account on the Firefox browser, it comes up, but won't play the selected program. All other streaming services I subscribe to work fine on Firefox, as did Apple tv until this week. If I try running Apple tv on Google chrome on the same lap top, it works fine too. Ditto on my iPhone using Safari. I'd prefer staying on Firefox to stream Apple tv, but can't make it work at the present time. Can you help?

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. Here are some standard troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue:

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon in the left part of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it.
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache.
  3. If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
  5. If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.

I have this exact problem as described, including everything working fine with TV.apple.com until earlier this month. I've tried all of the steps recommended Denys' reply. The fail occurs also in my installed MS Edge and Opera browsers. Apple support is opaque – you can't do anything other than pick from their list of problems.

Does anyone know what Apple changed with the web streaming of TV? Is there some new tech requirement for the embedded video player?
