Uhm, ok yeah. That's odd. The dev does says that it may take a while before it kicks in. So can you please reach out if you're not able to get it fixed in the next 12 hours? Also, please restart your browser too just to be sure.

I wasn't able to see if from your System Details. Can you please try to go to about:support and then copy raw data to clipboard and manually pasted in the text field in the edit question page

As a side note, does Firefox show your missing new tab page shortcuts when you click in the address/URL bar? "Shortcuts" is one category of suggestions you can show, and they usually appear when you first click in the bar, before you type any text for Firefox to match off of.
