Every time I try to set up my email account within the Thunderbird app I get this failure to code 0x80550014 message with [nslMsgIncomingServer.verifyLogon] and not sure as to why or how to go about fixing this.

Those are the wrong settings for gmail. The account wizard should enter the proper ones, but if not, use these:
imap.gmail.com, 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, User Name = email address
smtp.gmail.com, 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, User Name = email address
Omit the password, as you will have to enter it in the OAuth window on first connection to allow TB access.
