Thunderbird installs with MY email address, I need only my wife's on this PC

Yahoo (AT&T) mail via a browser has major operational problems for my wife on her PC, and I need a separate installation of Thunderbird in IMAP mode on it.

I installed Thunderbird, but TB insists on putting my email address and trying to log in on my AT&T/Yahoo mail account. Tried both regular and custom installs, same results. Note: I do have Firefox installed on this PC under my name, if that is germane. Also use Firefox & Thunderbird on my PC. I am administrator on her PC.

OK, do you and your wife use your own desktop/user account on windows? It is by far the easiest way to ensure you get what you want. you can create separate profiles and mess about and it will go wrong at some point.

You can use add-on to switch profile and it all becomes much like outlook express. But for the technically challenged, using separate windows accounts is the best and least troublesome method.
