While typing in a URL in the address bar I see that the same information is sent to Google also. Even if I use a 'private' tab. This worries me.

Hi volunteers ;-)

As stated in my question; when I open a private tab in FF on my Android phone, and I type in the url in the address bar I see that the same information is also sent to Google. To my opinion, this undermines the whole idea of privacy. I have tried to prevent this but I don't know how.

So my main question is. Is it possible to prevent FF to send the directly typed in URL to Google? And my second question is, why does it happen? If one opens a 'private' tab, that should be an indication that the address one wants to visit, should be kept private. To be honest I don't consider Google as a 'trusted' party in this.

With kind regards,

Coen
