Hi, for the past couple of weeks firefox is causing the GPU to block firefox when trying to play a youtube short preview by hovering over the short. The screen goes white and then returns and it happens again if you leave the cursor over the short. After a few of these, the message comes up that the GPU (nvidia in this case) acceleration has blocked access to firefox. This will happen every time. The issue doesn't occur in chrome. The issue doesn't occur if firefox is started in troubleshoot mode. If I run in regular mode and manually disable my one extension (keeper) and the two plugins - widevine codec and cisco openh264 codec, the issue will still occur. I have no other add-ins. I have updated firefox and the nvidia drivers to the most current. The gpu is nvidia geforce 940mx with intel hd graphics 620. I am running 64bit windows 10 home on an hp envy laptop with i7 chip. For the past few weeks Firefox has been crashing and freezing often. Crashes are worst when trying to access Protonmail, which almost always crashes the tab instantly. Freezes happen most often when browsing Reddit, and also when watching Youtube, but crashes and freezes can happen on almost any website.

I have tried changing profiles, refreshing and uninstalling/reinstalling, but the problem persists and seems to be getting worse over time.

Dear Support I have opted to use the Firefox browser mainly due to the provision of fixed “Bookmarks” on the left-hand side of the screen, not provided by others. However, I am experiencing lot of problems with Firefox , including: - Freezing pages - Images are not fully displayed - No internet connection at pick times - Hanging on certain pages - Delay opening various web pages - etc The above issues have become more prevalent recently forcing me to use Google Chrome. I have now learnt that when FireFox goes down due to one of the above issues, I have to switch to Google Chrome for access to the relevant pages and generally the WWW. I have no option but to abandon the failing FireFox, if the failures continue. Thanks Harry Elm London

I'm on Thunderbird (128.6.0esr (64-bit)) on Fedora/GNOME. I've noticed, that whenever I launch Thunderbird, it takes several minutes (!) where it says "Connecting to mail.myserver.com" in status. I'm using my own postfix/dovecot server with imap and I don't have this problem on Thunderbird Windows for instance, where it connects right away on startup. After the initial slow connection, it works just fine, when I manually trigger to scan for new messages (instantly). I tried literally any option within Thunderbird to fix that, without any success. It seems to be some trouble with resolving / dns or probably ip6/ip4, but then again, why would it work normally after the long connection time in the beginning? Any clue what might be the problem here?

ThunderBird for Linux crashes down automatically every 5 minutes since the last update. Every time I log into my account, about 5 minutes later, I see from the monitoring terminal that ThunderBird's temporary memory usage suddenly soars to over 90%, and then the entire program becomes unresponsive and must be closed and logged in again. But after that, this situation keeps repeating, and it is impossible to use it. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hi

Long-term Thunderbird user and in the past couple of months Thunderbird on my PC on connecting to my mail server goes to a time out (about a minute?) before then downloading new messages. Connecting from my laptop is instant.

The PC - which is relatively new - performs well otherwise.

Checked settings on both and they are identical, save for the laptop.being 64-bit and the PC 32-bit versions.

Any ideas for me to try?

I am running Thunderbird 128 (any version) on a Surface Pro 9 running Windows 11. After sleep/hibernate or going into energy-saving mode, TB hangs for a period of minutes. Eventually it comes back, but it can take 5-10 minutes.

I do not have this problem with TB 115 on the same machine, or TB 128 on other machines (e.g. running Windows 10 or Ubuntu). TB 115 on the same machine can take a few seconds to come back (longer than on my other machines), but that s OK.

I have the same expereince whether or not I am troubleshoot mode. I have created a new profile with no add-ons (and less acounts) and I have the same problem. I was wondering if it is something to do with the fact that I have 8000 folders, and somehow TB is hanging while it checks all the folders. That account is a fastmail IMAP connection, but I have experienced similar on a backup Microsoft Exchange account (again an IMAP connection) with similar number of folders.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? Hi, in windows 10, while I am launching Firefox - if it does not exist yet - a new read-only file is created on the Desktop. This file was created time ago by myself (so its name does not matter much and it contains only a small empty branch). I can't delete it as far as I don't have the rights to do it. I tryied used cmd console and powershell to fix it, but nothing works fine. I run my antivirus, no more result. Tried to trash this file using external programs, same issue. Tryied to change the rights of that file, to reinstall completly FF, nothing seems to be useful. Possible way to solve it : I clean up my C: last week because I wanted more space and a better organization (moment from which that problem began). It is like Firefox was needing a file in the Windows tree and as he couldn't find it, he creates it because he need that this file exists. Regards

The past weeks/months I do not see any square check boxes where they are supposed to be. When I click in the space where I know ther is supposed to be one, a check mark does appear, but it is annoying. Buttons remain empty visibly when I check it. No dot appears, but it does register that I clicked it. Also annoying. It's in automatic, light and dark mode the same

P.S. The same with the check box (email me) on this page, but now I see a check box but not if I clicked it.

I have TB accounts setup for email from three different domains. Let's call them A.com, B.org, and C.net. All three domains are hosted at the same ISP - Ionos. Therefore all three have the same SMTP server for outgoing emails - smtp.ionos.com. But each has a different mailbox with different email address, so when I set up the accounts in TB I specify smtp.ionos.com as the email server along with the email address appropriate to that domain: ted@A.com, ted@B.org, and ted@C.net. The problem is that when I set the email address for one of these accounts TB changes the other two accounts to match it. So, for instance, the email address for all three accounts' SMTP server ends up being ted@A.com. Then, of course, each time I use a different account to send email I have to go back in and change the email address and reenter the PW for that account. How can I stop TB from changing all three accounts and get it to keep the appropriate email address with the right account?

Hi, I have an issue that is very annoying. I recently upgraded from brother HLL5200 to HLL5210 printer. Since that upgrade, all emails printed via logmein/thunderbird/brother printer are printing in 1/4 of the normal size (tiny print in top left hand side of page). This applies to emails I try to print, as well as attachments. I have no other printer, so I cant test elsewhere. Thunderbird troubleshooting mode does not help. Brother studied it and said its not a printer issue. Logmein studied it and said its not a logmein issue. My tech support guy thinks it may be a driver incompatibility between logmein and thunderbird. Can anyone help? Please contact me at nathan@nrosencanada.com thanks!
