Hi, was using Thunderbird with GMail on an old PC, now broken. Two months ago we migrated from Aruba, an Italian mail provider, to Gmail. Now I have a new PC and I downloaded the latest version of Thunderbird. I don't know why, but the automatic settings of Thunderbird is still showing me the old Aruba servers and not the ones of GMail. I called Google Workspaces assistance and they said it's ok from their side, my GMail account is set up correctly. If I try to setup the account manually, the message I receive is that Thunderbird cannot connect to GMail. Who is telling Thunderbird that until two months ago my provider was Aruba? PC and app are brand new... I attach three screensghots Thank you for your help!

Saved all my email messages from my old Office 365 to a local folder as we were migrating to a new Office 365 account. Now I have the new Office 365 email configured and working fine and I am trying to restore the messages from the local folder back online. When I try to copy them nothing happens but on the program bar at the bottom left it says "message service.copy message is not a function" Searched around seems like no one has this problem. Cannot find anything on how to solve it and copy back my messages to my inbox. Can someone help me sort this? Thank you

I made the mistake of trying the new supernova TB today, and made the even bigger mistake of forgetting to backup my profile before doing so.

The new version was a disaster, and after wasting far too much time getting things to where they should be, I uninstalled and reinstalled version 102.14.0

I have a backup of my profile from my nightly disk image, so used that when I reverted, and all new incoming messages were downloading from the server.

This means I'm only missing the messages I sent today. I saved these before uninstalling supernova, and now want to import them. I have two mail accounts, and a few sent messages for each.

Following some instructions I found here, I zipped up the files for one of the mail accounts and imported it. However, I can't find these messages anywhere, which looks like it didn't actually import them.

Anyone able to help? Thanks

Since when Google made OAuth mandatory, a new TB profile is unable to log in with a G-Mail account that is under parental monitoring (i.e. using Google Family Link). I have an old TB profile where such an access is possible because the TB account was created before new Google OAuth requirements. Yes, and that old profile uses OAuth as log in method. But it is no more possible within a new TB profile. Some times Google says that such a log in is forbidden. Some times it presents a blank, useless response page.

I installed the new 115.0.1 version of Thunderbird, recommended in Flathub/Flatpak version. The issue is that when I launch this version of Thunderbird I lose my account information and am invited to configure an existing email address, which means I lose all my profile. Back to version 1020 in Deb version everything is fine, my profile is intact. How should I proceed?

Good Day,

First thank you for your kind service to others who are in need of assistance and direction, as I am positive you dont hear it enough.. but I appreciate your time and effort on behalf of those who do not. So " Thank you ! "

Second, I have installed Thunderbird, and imported my yahoo email from their server and it appears that my email lists are missing,.. The regular contacts are there but the lists I regularly use are not.

Might you point me in the direction of how to accomplish that little feat. or is this simply not something that Thunderbird will do ?

Again, thank you in advance  !

I transferred my THUNDERBIRD (TB) profile from a Win 7(32bit) - to a Win 10 (64b). The new install can not get my email. I carefully and repeatedly checked every setting with both comp screens side by side.

      • Every letter, dot, and number are identical.

I can still log in with my UN/PW on the Win 7 box - and I can log in online using my PW.

Every time I try on the Win 10 box get these two errors: FIRST: Login to server inbound.att.net with username mitchg@att.net failed

     [Retry] [Enter New Password] [Cancel]

THEN: "Sending of password for user mitchg@att.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded [sys/temp] Server error - Please try again later."

RE: "LATER" - Please note: While this is on the Win 10 box screen I can send and receive email through the same account with TB on my Win 7 box and/or the ATT server webpage interface. I have tried "later" innumerable times for 10 hours.

BTW, I have also deleted the TB pkcs11.txt file more than once. I also opened that file on the Win7 and Win 10 boxes and compared them side by side. Other than the path to the folder they are identical.

Nothing I read indicated I should delete the FireFox file of the same name so I left it alone.

Thanks very much for your help. mitch

I recently installed the Flatpak version of Thunderbird Version 115.0.1.

I can no longer start Thunderbird from the command line. It is supposed to run by using the command flatpak run org.mozilla.Thunderbird. When I issue this command nothing happens.

I can however start Thunderbird by using rofi. When I use rofi to start Flatpak Thunderbird, it runs perfectly.

I do not have any problems with any of the other Flatpak applications that I have on my system. Prior to updating Thunderbird, I did not have any problems with the Flatpak version of Thunderbird that I had installed. It is just this new version of Flatpak Thunderbird that is giving me problems.

I am running Debian Linux version 12.

I have reloaded Windows 10 into my Lenovo T510 as a result of changing the hard drive. I had saved my Thunderbird profile. I completed this last Friday. Thunderbird will not allow me to download its software as my machine is now not compatible which I am struggling with as I was using Thunderbird all last week (See attachment). As a sneeky fix....I took a older version from my wife's machine loaded that...all good. I assumed in time it would update after I had loaded my profile. When I try and change my default profile to the migrated one in the software I see the message attached. I seem to be caught in a vicious circle as my Lap top is nolonger compatible with the Thunderbaird software available for download, though I have only changed the harddrive. If I use an older version of Thunderbird which is working fine on my wife's Lenovo T510 (identical machines) I have a compatibility with the profile I want to use. I also attach my lap top operating system and architecture(?) Can anyone help? In normal circumstances I would just start again but the profile has some very important emails relating to a personal legal case I am fighting (and winning) and I need access to them.

I am attempting to move Thunderbird to a new computer following the instructions from the website and it is not working.

The original computer is Windows 10 and has had Thunderbird installed for a long time and was recently updated to 102.14.0 (64 bit). The new computer is Windows 11 with a clean install of 102.14.0 (64 bit). When I copy the folders from the old computer to the new one and launch Thunderbird, it is not recognizing that the profile has been copied over, there are no email accounts, etc.

I did note that the folder structure is different - the old one was under Mozilla Thunderbird and the new one is just Thunderbird; the Profile folder on the old one is Profile and the new one is Profiles and some of the files are different.

Any ideas on how to successfully migrate this?

Was using a version in the 90's, then updated Thunderbird to 102.14.0. I can open Thunderbird, but I can no longer access my RoadRunner Email.

I get the error message "The server does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' " Nothing in the updated versions PW settings seems to have changed.

I even verified I could access my RR Email directly online with Firefox. T-Bird has the *same exact PW* listed in my Firefox, so then I edited it to the same, just to see if a subsequent PW updating would be consistent with the T-Bird update.

Please help, otherwise I will have to reinstall T-Bird back to the earlier version. This is exactly why I avoid updates.

TB version: 115.1.0 (64-bit) Windows 10 (corporate laptop)

Fresh laptop, fresh install of TB.

When trying to connect email@example.com (not really my email), TB correctly detects that my domain is hosted at Google, configures IMAP and SMTP for OAuth2, and pops up the window to authenticate.

Instead of an authentication prompt, I'm met with this error:

URL: https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth?response_type=code&client_id=<CHOMP>aq8lmia8j<CHOMP>.apps.googleusercontent.com&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost&scope=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2F+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fcarddav+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fcalendar&login_hint=user%40example.com

Text: Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

I have three calendars that I use on one of Tbirds installed on one of my PCs. I can export two of them but not the third one. If I click on the third calendar in the left column then select export, nothing happens. When I do the same with the other two, a dialog box opens where I can change or add the ICS file and its destination folder. If I try using Events and Tasks to export, the same thing happens. It is a mystery to me. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I am using Tbird 102.11.0 (64-bit) release.

Hi, I run TB on 2 machines. On one (running Win10) Supernova downloaded automatically, odd as I thought you had to opt in to get it. (The other running Win11 is still on v102). No problem as it looks good. (I'll make any suggestions separately.) But I'm concerned about migration as I have a lot of messages, both archived and in live folders. Judging by some forum responses version 102 should still be lurking in the background. Is that right? And if so what's the migration plan once Supernova is out of beta? And as I was about to move storage location from C: to D: for space issues, is it best to hold off until Supernova is fully live?
