After the 145.0 update when I start Firefox both the menu bar and the top bar with the exit icon are missing. This is the first issue I've had since using Firefox when the new revision was in the 20's. Per some quick Support research, I press F 11 twice (NOT once) to restore the screen to include the top bar with exit icon and menu bar with my Windows task bar showing (as normal for the past 2 decades). When I close out Firefox in less than full screen mode and then start up Firefox again, it properly includes both the top bar with exit icon and the menu bar. HOWEVER, if I close Firefox in full screen and then restart, I am missing the top icon bar and menu bar... again. Press F11 twice and the bars are back to square one. HOW DO I FIX THIS SO I DON'T HAVE TO PRESS F11 TWICE ON EVERY STARTUP TO RESTORE MY SCREEN?????? WHY DID YOUR RECENT UPDATE CHANGE MY SCREEN SETTINGS?????

Every time I go to use programs on my computer while on a Firefox session, when I return to Firefox, the menu that appears when I'd typically press the Alt key drops down. Every time. The only way I can get it to stop is by exiting out of the session entirely and reopening it. There is no option on my Firefox settings that can help me disable the action.

I have not installed or changed anything in my settings, it began happening suddenly, and has become an interruption in my workflow. Any ideas on what might have caused or what I can do to fix it?

The Reply/Forward bar at the bottom of each email is something I would like to remove from my laptop screen. It consumes over 20% of my screen area. As I have vision issues, this is a waste of viewable space that would be better used showing the contents of each email.

Overall, Firefox displays too many fixed items like toolbars, etc. that reduce the usable working area meaning that I scroll (both side-to-side and up-to-down) so much to see the full contents of an email that I sometimes lose the context.

Is there a setting that will remove this bar & others from my screen? I know the menu selections for these functions and definitely do NOT need a full-size bar that I never use and wastes scarce screen space.

Thanks Tom Friedrich

This concerns the display of bookmarksto the the left of the main display. Fot the record, this is installed om Magea Linux, vers 9, from the OS repository, and is Firefox vers 140.4.0esr ( 64-bit). Up until recently the display was variable in width, and once the box for 'show bookarks' was ticked, the bookmarks display opened in any new ;Firefox' brought up. With the two new features, I have a pair of niggles. One, is that the new sidebar, being fixed width, cannot be reduced. Taking up more screen 'Real Estate', that I consider would be better utilised for the main panel. The other niggle, is that ticking 'Show bookmarks' is not permanent and has to be re-ticked, for any new Firefox' display. I have another machine running the same version of Mageia. I opened this today, and it, while still showing the same version of Firefox, displays the old version. Perhaps, since the Mageia support section have not yet.sent a prompt for update. My query, is. Is it possible for me to return to the old style display, or is there a setting that will do so. The new display, having several options, is possibly an advance. But, for me, bookmarks display is paramount.

Thanks, Rod Goslin

With the latest update when I open a FF browser window the title bar does not have the 3 icon for Shrink. Resize of Close. To get these to appear I much click on the tab for the window on my Taskbar to make the browser window close and then click again to reopen it at which time those 3 control are back where they should be.

Why is this happening after using the browser for many many years? This is really annoying and I do not understand what you all did to mess things up or if i can fix in on my end.

Please consider reverting to the smaller border radius from version 144.

So within the last couple of days Firefox has started toggling the menu bar even though I have it disabled/hidden. If I were to click off of the browser to check Discord for example, it pops up when I click back on and literally moves stuff down--which makes it annoying if I try to click back on to enter a web address.

Anyone else having this problem?

Fedora 42 x86_64, firefox 145.0

Using FontForge, I created a custom Unicode (NO 8-bit pi encoded) version of the Symbol typeface with a new font-family name.

One of the customizations, the serif versions of the "Registered Sign", "Copyright Sign", and "Trademark Sign" are available by the official Unicode codepoint. The sans-serif versions are available by the official Unicode codepoint *directly* followed by U+200B (Zero Width Space - ZWSP).

This is done with the OpenType contextual alternative feature (calt).

It works in the FontForge metrics test window and it works in Chromium and derivatives but it does not work in FireFox - either the Fedora 42 build or the generic x86_64 build from Mozilla.

I tried the CSS setting:

body { font-feature-settings: "calt" on; }

No dice. I believe that's the right CSS setting because if I change the "on" to "off" then it no longer works in chromium and derivatives, so that does seem to the be the CSS setting that controls whether or not the feature is enabled.

All my searches on the web seem to indicate the FireFox supports calt however all the examples I see are related to swashes which are enabled/disabled by a different CSS setting.

I did see some indication that some apps only allow calt for certain language scripts, typically Arabic and/or Greek and/or Latin and perhaps these legal glyphs aren't considered one of those scripts?

Does anyone know why the calt works elsewhere and not in FireFox? Yes, I tried without any extensions or plugins enabled.

Hello! I am running firefox and had an issue with the URL bar. Before, the URL bar was at the top and right underneath it would appear the open tabs; underneath that were my bookmarks. I don't know what I pressed, but now, the tabs and bookmarks are on top (on the same line), and the URL bar is underneath that -- see screenshot for details. It is a small issue, but it is driving me crazy, since all my mucle memory on where to click etc. is gone. Furthermore, the bookmarks now crowd the open tabs, so if I have a lot of open tabs, I cannot see them all at a glance.

I tried looking for settings, but all settings for customizing the toolbar are about adding items to the URL bar, not switching the position of URL bar and the open tabs. How do I fix this?
