yahoo is dominating my home page I didnt request it and it is very difficult to maintain Firefox during an even brief session

Yahoo web site has established itself as my homepage. It is persistent and tenacious and does not allow Firefox access to the screen at all. The yahoo toolbar was difficult to remove as it did not show in the uninstall programs in the control panel
