http://en-usstart3 etc not in address bar when I call up firefox, even though my settings show that it should.

Recently "http://google.com/firefox" etc. started showing in my address bar when I first start Firefox. It now takes 2-4x longer just to get the FF Start Page and it takes a lot longer to get to my web pages as well. My home page settings (TOOLS Menu/Options) shows the usual "http://en-usstart3" etc. but it loads GOOGLE/FIREFOX. HELP!
