How do I turn off the unwanted default folders "other bookmarks" and "mobile bookmarks"?

I have figured out how to turn off the "mobile bookmarks" via about:config and changing the value of "browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks" but I cannot seem to find the "other bookmerks" setting. where is it? I want to have my own bookmarks show up as the first item - I dont want any of this other crap showing up. Why would anyone at Mozilla think I would want folders I did not create or use above my own?
