I recently switched to Firefox and everything is great except for one annoyance. Every few weeks, I like to cleanup and reset my browser to default settings for a clean new feel. So, I went into "Troubleshooting information" and clicked "Refresh Firefox" hoping it would clear all browser data and reset settings, I noticed I was getting search suggestions even after clicking "Refresh Firefox", so I went into privacy settings to clear all data hoping this would be it but no. Later when I was logging into a website Firefox had my credentials already typed in. So obviously after doing all this it didn't delete my saved passwords and god knows how many more other things are still stored and settings saved.

Are there any further steps I need to perform to make it completely like a new browser? Is there no easy way to reset my browser?

P.S.: I don't sync my browser.

Chosen solution

If you want to totally remove all data, it can be done. But is there a reason you want to totally remove all data?

The easiest way would be to create a new blank user profile. Then remove the old profile.

If you are worried about keeping the data secured, only someone with access to your user profile can access it.

Refreshing Firefox {web link} is a LAST RESORT ! !

Refreshing Firefox -- easily fix most problems

If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks and open tabs. Everything else, like user settings and add-ons, are removed.
