"swipe up from home search" is a Google Android operating system feature. It is not a Firefox feature (although we allow you to set Firefox instead of google as the search app that is started by swipe up from home search).

Some versions of Android like HTC allow you to disable "swipe up from home search". Most versions of Android do not; in other words this is a limitation of Google Android not Firefox.

The only workaround I can think of is to set "swipe up from home search" to be Google Now if you are annoyed by Firefox search and aren't annoyed by Google Now.

Thanks Roland. I already have google now disabled. I also have swipe up disabled. Just wanted to know if I could turn off this feature in Firefox itself.
