How can I change my email password in Thunderbird ??? - my account password has been deleted in Thunderbird and I wish to re-enter a new password. Please reply to [edited email from community support forum] @gmail.com

I had TB on my desktop for years and finally got it also synced to my phone. Then with a failure with Windows 11 had to wipe clean the desktop and start over. Cannot reinstall TB. I obviously have the correct e-mail and password as I was able to log into Mozilla and submit this question. I believe it is a problem with my user name and what is on my phone setup does not work with my desktop reinstallation.

With my Pixel 9a Android 16, I installed TB Android mobile by the export/QR code method. The settings were imported into the phone from my desktop, Win 11 TB version 147.0.1 and yahoo.com for my email service. I went through setup successfully, however, when I tried to sign in I receive an error: Oauth sign in failed. Oauth is currently not supported with this provider. Retry does not solve the problem. On my phone the settings are: Server is: pop.mail.yahoo.com Security SSL/TLS Port 995 Oauth 2.0 my user name @yahoo.ca These are the server settings on my desktop as well. Next step in the setup is to "Sign In". I immediately get the "Oauth not supported with this provider" error. I tried IMAP, same error. Under Oauth 2.0 there a pull down menu with: Normal password, Encrypted password or Client certificate. I'm not sure what these options are or if I can use them, ie with my Yahoo mail id and pwd. I tried IMAP server and got the same error. I'm hoping that someone can advise me as to how I get past this Oauth 2.0 error and finish installing Thunderbird for Android. Thank you

Accessing my yahoo email with Thunderbird have worked fine for several months. Now I cannot log in. Yahoo mail is not accessible from the web either. But the web login works fine from Windows. I tried to change authentication method from OAuth2 to password but that didn't help. When I start Thunderbird there is either a dialogue which requires password or a window (see added picture) with a long string at the top of the window. That string cannot be edited. The rest of the window is empty.

I dont understand this new method of sign in message you have sent, im an oldie, not an IT geek, I dont understand & very worried im going to loose access to my e-mail which has inf ormation on that i NEED

Ich hatte immer Thunderbird, habe das Programm neu installiert und jetzt muss ich ein Paßwort eingeben. Bisher mußte ich das nie tun. Also habe ich keins das ich eingeben kann. Das ich keins eingeben kann, ist ein Herstellen des E-Programms nicht möglich. Was kann ich tun. Ich benötige das unbedingt wegen der eingehenden Mail. Viele Dank für Ihre Hilfe

depuis le 10 mars 12 h ma boîte mail thunderbird ne reçoit plus aucun message et je ne peux en envoyer aucun. j'ai un message  : échec de l'authentification lors de la connection au serveur. Mon serveur Yahoo me demande de me reconnecter, ce qui s'avère impossible à faire. Je précise que je n'avais pas touché à mon compte en amont.

The summary says it all, really. I've tried all sorts of Google searches and fixes, but nothing works; I was originally on Netscape Navigator, and after Microsoft killed that off, I went to Firefox and Thunderbird - so 'lost in the mists of time ' sums up my problem.

I use earthlink.net (28yrs) with Thunderbird. I set up a second account (name123@earthlink.net) which somehow became my primary account. It accesses fine, but my major account (name@earthlink.net) asks for password which I don't know and can't find using tools, account settings etc. This just started and I typically get 50 emails per day and cannot access. I can access X@earthlink.net

I need help setting my passwords in Mozilla and Firefox. I'm also confused as to what is the difference between the 2 entitities. If there is anyone to guide me would be appreciated.

My email account is set up with 2fa with an app-specific password for Thunderbird. I manually updated all the info in Passwords, but TB still won't connect. Under Setup it keeps saying "Authentication failed: Check username and password" but both are entered correctly. Under "YourLogin", I have re-entered two different formats but still fails. I also set the SMTP server settings to match email account.

  I've been fighting this for too many hours.  Can somebody help me get connected?

I've used Thunderbird for years & have never changed my password. All of a sudden, it will no longer recognize my password. As a consequence, I am no longer receiving email and cannot sign in, even though it just "updated" my version of thunderbird..

Hello. Firefox saves my password but not my email address on Royal Caribbean's website. I have tried everything possible but still will not work. I know how to save passwords and email address. All my other websites will open just fine, but not RC. I always have to type in my email address. Chrome does open up both my password and email address. I used AI and did everything it said to do with Firefox and still does not work. I have windows 11. If you have windows 11 try it and see if it works for you. Any help would be appreciated.
