I have set my passwords rule to "Ask for saving passwords" but only passwords on web pages are saved and used. Passwords for .htaccess are not saved and not used. Even the existing old ones are ignored. Is this a bug or a new "feature"? Or am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

Since the update to the new Firefox for Android (79.0), some of my saves usernames and corresponding passwords are not prefilled anymore. Some others are. The credentials are all still there - I can see and review them in the Settings -> Logins and passwords -> Saved logins.

Some credentials are for HTTP basic authentication (2x), some are for simple login forms (2x). From the basic authentications, both are *not* prefilled. From the regular HTML forms, one is and one is not.

Is this a know bug? If so, how can I help to diagnose the problem? If not, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance, Frans-Willem

When i start typing i get addressbar automatically filled with url of the page that i have never been. In setting ->search i have turned on only to search browsing history and bookmarks (cache and storage was deleted (android turned off and on and the problem still exist). Have you tried turning in on and off again? (android restart) Yes, the problem still exist. Also is there is a way to remove collections from firefox and move addons from addons submenu to menu (one click less to enter noscript and ublock).

I recently migrated from Chrome to Firefox and was amazed at how seamless the transition was. All of my data was shared between all my devices and recently my phone. Last week, my phone prompted me for a Firefox Android upgrade which I installed. After that upgrade my prefilled passwords don't show up on my Android.

The user names and passwords are still in my profile - even on the phone - they just don't transfer to webpages on the Android.

I have a privately hosted website that I have secured with a client certificate.

The certificate is signed by my own Root CA, which signed an Intermediary CA that signed the various client certificates. I have created a separate certificate for each device I have.

On my different PCs I can import that certificate into the browsers certificate store and when I browse to the website, I get asked if I want to use my client certificate. If I select that, I get access to the website, without such a certificate, I just get a "403 Forbidden" page. That is how it should be. The certificates secure the sites and I don't need to enter a password.

I can get this to work with Chrome for Android, but somehow I have yet failed to find out how I can get Firefox for Android (my preferred, default browser) to work with that.

I can't find the menu in the settings (as done on the desktop version). I can install the certificate from the CA by downloading into from my website on my phone. Yet when I try that with the client certificate, it says I can't import it as it's not a CA certificate. I have tried to download different formats (cert.pem, or a PFX) but none would work.

Is this possible with Firefox for Android?

Firefox on my Android was updated automatically to 79.0.5 Before the update I had a master password I understood. Now I cannot find either a master password or a primary password

The instructions in the migration guidance referred to removing to master password and setting a primary password Removing master password refers to selecting privacy settings - no longer available Setting a primary password refer to selecting logins and passwords then selecting something that does not exist - I only see three menu options "ask to save", "synchronise" and "saved..". Selecting saved requires the device password not a primary password. Once entered I am shown a blank page reading "the logins you save and synchronise will show here" - but its blank. I had many passwords protected by the master password and many passwords synchrnoised with my firefox account.
