Hi,

Now when i click the address bar at the top I'm met with a Blank Screen whereas before the update I had my Top Sites "pinned" for quick & easy access. I now have to faff around going into the bookmarks which is pointless when this feature was working perfectly well, why remove it?

Also when i start Firefox fresh i see small icons for the top sites but they're so small the URL/Name doesn't show up so i have no idea which icons lead to which sites. These need to be bigger like post update and put back line they were before.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. This update is a massive fail, please revert ASAP.

The last update of Firefox Android completely broke base functionalities such as tabs, and you now have to go into sliding sub-menues just to open up new tabs, or even switch between tabs.

For the longest time, I've been trying to stave off using Chrome, even as more and more pages seem to flat-out not work, but with this latest update, I really can't excuse using Firefox anymore, as even basic usage now becomes a constant back-and-forth, trying to fight against the application itself.

Is there any way to resolve this, or am I forced to migrate?

Or, if this is not possible and Firefox Android 79 is indeed unusable, how do I upgrade to 68 (which I believe was the previous version) without losing my pre-existing tabs (of which I have oh-so-many).

Hi there,

I live the bottom toolbar from a usability perspective. Though for me it's hiding the page bottom. For some forums that means for example the reply button is barely visible. Anyone else has that issue? Is it a known one? The search didn't give me any results, so I thought I'd report on here.

Thanks!

Sorry if this gets posted twice, but not even this page is working right. First, an extra step to get to my tabs doesn't make things faster. Second, no back and forward buttons. Really? Sure, I can use my tablet button to go back but there's no way to go back to the page I was on without a forward button. Come on! Third, I go to Amazon and I'm in mobile mode. Have to open settings and switch to desktop. If I close the browser and reopen it Amazon is back in mobile. I go back to settings and the desktop slider is on. Switch it off an on again and again but it won't go back to desktop. The only way is to close the tab, open a new one and switch to desktop again. I might be able to get used to the tabs thing, but not having a forward button and having no way to set the browser to automatically open sites in desktop is making this totally unusable.

Everytime I open one of these websites from my collection I need to reload the page otherwise it will only display a cached version.

I'm using Firefox across both desktop and mobile devices, and one feature I'm using heavily, is to set up keywords for searches with website-specific search bars. For example, entering "w hedgehog" in my setup is the same as going to Wikipedia, and entering "hedgehog" in its search bar. Here's a better description: Search keywords However, since the update to Firefox 79 on my android phone, this is no longer working at all.

Is this an oversight, planned to be added back in later, or, which I don't hope, "a feature that not enough people were using, so we axed it"?

First, I have to say that I have been using firefox for over 20 years. In all that time i have never seen a more poorly designed, counter intuitive, vague and undersupported update as this one.

There are a lot of issues but i will focus on my primary. I use Canvas LMS every day and access it via the browser (vs using the canvas app). I am now receiving a message that "javascript must be enabled to access this site" when trying to get to the webpage. My access requires a password which has never been a problem and is not an issue as far as i know.

I attempted the very vague 'fix' listed in the alleged help section but do not know what the hell the "awesomebar" is (other than a very sophomoric name...).

Please fix this. I have appreciated Mozilla's service until now but this is a deal breaker since I primarily use this as a means to work.

Thank you.

Well, I got the big new update for Firefox on Android, and it's doing something I hate. If I close the Firefox app, the next time I go into it, all the tabs I had open before closing are still there.

I get why some people would want this, I really do. But it didn't happen before the update, and for YEARS I've been used to a certain workflow. It's muscle memory at this point. Doing things this way does not feel good to me.

Enabling the setting to clear browsing data on exit, and only selecting "open tabs," send like it should be perfect. Problem is, you have to hit the tiny menu button and select "quit." This means I have to always keep in mind to use a different method to quit Firefox than I use to quit every other app.

I'm really hoping there's some hidden settings or something like there is on the desktop version.

Hi, I have Bitdefender Parental control installed on my Android device, and it used to work fine with Firefox. However, following the recent update, it no longer works with Firefox. Is there anyway to get it to work again? I really don't want to use Google Chrome again.
