As already reported by numerous people, the newer versions of FF sometimes don't save some web pages properly to local disk for later offline use.

FF v59.0.1 did not have this problem, which started when I upgraded from v59.0.1 to v80. v90.0.2 still has this problem.

The problem occurs with many web pages, but not all. e.g. I don't have this problem saving pages from support.mozilla.org, but I do with many News sites, and others such as the example below:

Example (this was all done within 3 minutes, and is repeatable): Web page: A page in the store at DAZ3D File > Save as...

 Case #1: FF v59.0.1
No failure is signalled, the page saves OK, and can later be loaded from local disk as expected when offline.
 Case #2: FF v90.0.2
The download icon in the toolbar has a yellow triangle, and when clicked it displays a status panel saying that the download "Failed", and offering to "Retry download".
Case #2a: If I do NOT click the "Retry download" icon, and just terminate FF, disconnect from the internet, then restart FF and load the page offline, all is OK as per Case #1 above.
Case #2b: If I DO click the "Retry download" icon, then FF retries, says "Completed", and clears the yellow triangle from the icon. BUT the saved page does not display correctly when offline, because in the saved .htm all the references to image files, .css files, .js files, etc. are to the original web URLs, not to the local <Page>_files/*.* files (which do exist).

An example of the corresponding lines in the 3 saved .htm files: Case #1: <link rel="stylesheet" href="dForce%20Summer%20Chic%20Suit%20for%20Genesis%208%20Female(s)%20%20%20Daz%203D_files/design-b24fd175375034500aabab482fb3a1a3.css" about="0"> Case #2a: <link rel="stylesheet" ref="dForce%20Summer%20Chic%20Suit%20for%20Genesis%208%20Female(s)%20Daz%203D_files/design-b24fd175375034500aabab482fb3a1a3.css" about="0"> Case #2b: <link rel="stylesheet" href="/groups/design-b24fd175375034500aabab482fb3a1a3.css" about="0">

In Case #2b, the string "_files/" occurs nowhere in the .htm file.

Another example of differences between the saved .htm files - these are the last lines before the </body> token: Case #2a: <script async="" src="dForce%20Summer%20Chic%20Suit%20for%20Genesis%208%20Female(s)%20Daz%203D_files/persist.js"></script><script async="" src="dForce%20Summer%20Chic%20Suit%20for%20Genesis%208%20Female(s)%20Daz%203D_files/check.js"></script> Case #2b: <script defer src="https://static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js" data-cf-beacon='{"rayId":"67a32d66eefdfb88","token":"90626adc84c24536bed8adeb58ff8fdb","version":"2021.7.0","si":10}'></script>

The Case#2a .htm file does not refer to "beacon.min.js" at all. The Case #2B .htm files does not refer to "persist.js" or "check.js" at all. (Maybe the problem occurs only on CloudFlare-based sites?)

I hope Firefox can fix this soon. TIA.

When I bring up the Firefox browser the page has macro blocking as best as I can describe it on the home page, and also when I bring up website pages. Portions of the page block out periodically during all sessions, the update didn't fix anything with my experience. I've turned off hardware acceleration, turned off all extensions as was prescribed and the problem persists and I don't know what else I can do. I have stopped using Firefox as my default browser for the reasons stated and I haven't found any solutions on the forums.

It's really dumb that one can close own Main window without warning that too many tabs are closed or there is another window still running! And that's what happened to me: i had Private window in back, closed Main window thinking that i'm closing browser, and then surprisingly saw Private window is still there. As any ordinary user who already lost tabs in past i panicked and closed the Private window too. Started Firefox once again hoping for restore, but it opened with clear window and obviously there was no "Restore session" button in Menu, as i have "Auto restore" ON in settings.

I started to search for manual way, found descriptions with manual renaming/coping backups from sessionstore-backup folder. Like these= https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/1275314 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1310742 But however i tried to copy and rename - each start Firefox ignores that, clears backup folder and again clear window. Lucky i thought about coping those recover. and previous. files from sessionstore-backup folder after first browser close, so they are safe. And i'm sure my tabs are still there = checked it with https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html.

So yeah, i have at least some way to get back tabs, but i'm really angry and curious to know WHAT is forbidding me to restore that file after manual rename??!

Firefox does not respond to a search request. After closing, a restart is answered by an error message - "Firefox is already running. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." When this is done, another instance of Firefox displays. It appears that two instances of Firefox have opened when only one was requested and the second has somehow disabled the search request, either manual (direct) or from a separate application/link. I have completed a Refresh without any change in behaviour. What can I do now? Thank you Graham Garden

The browser crashed when I tried to bring up Settings. Subsequently I could not open it again. I just shut down that computer in case repowering it solves the problem later. This is Mac Catalina. Firefox just updated here. I hope on this computer the problem does not surface.

Hi Everyone, When I try to access a particular website, there is no real graphical display - simply text scattered everywhere.

I visit loads of different sites each day, and this is the only one where this problem occurs.

The website Owner thinks it might be something to do with a CSS file(?) but, as I do not have the problem elsewhere, I am unsure.

If anyone can help on this, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

Been using FF since 2005ish. (Me 1946) Latest version (90.0.2 (64-bit) annoys me greatly because I can't remove the unwanted 'Pocket' BS. I've followed several online 'advices' on this, including this site, & still it persists.

FF is getting like IE IMO, with all the awkwardness to remove unwanted Bloatware. For an 'Ordinary User'. Could some knowledgeable FF user please explain, in language I can understand, English, but not very Tech Savvy) how I remove Pocket from the browser Thanks.

I have been automatically updated to 90.0.2 on several machines (most 64-bit Windows 7), but there appear to be problems with the latest version. I can't see evidence that these have already been reported.

1) Window update. When the browser window comes to the fore (top of the z-order), or when resurrecting from a minimized state, it does not redraw the whole window. Usually, half is missing. However, a cursor-move event while over the window triggers a redraw.

2) I have just experienced CAPTCHA issues trying to get into an gov.ie website. Instead of showing me text to enter into the field, it just showed a gray square. However ,the same challenge works OK in Chrome (i.e. it's not a problem with the site itself).

Are these known issues? Is there a way to regress to the previous version?

When version 89.2 rolled out, I was highly displeased by the fact that the default theme now no longer properly reflected the Windows theme settings (extremely noticeable on my end, since I use the Windows Classic theme with customized "3D object" colors); this defect had already affected the options dropdown but had now spread to the address/navigation bar, bookmarks toolbar, and scrollbar. This was extremely annoying, especially since none of the add-on themes can properly duplicate that aesthetic function. One of the things I liked about Firefox was that unlike Chrome, Opera, and Edge... it actually still respected the Windows theme settings (which programs like browsers should do by default). And now, that prized trait had been inexplicably and insensibly discarded.

I was further displeased by the removal of the dividing lines between tabs. This made Firefox substantially harder for me to use, almost headache-inducingly so. Whoever you have testing these changes before rollout - if anyone - should be replaced, because this was a massive accessibility downgrade. Unacceptably so.

These changes were so frustrating and ugly, and made the browser so much more difficult for me to use, that I reverted to version 88 and continue to remain on that version.

Does version 90 resolve these issues? If it does, I'll update. But if not.... then in my opinion it should be axed and you should cease pushing it in favor of working on a new version that does fix these poor decisions. And I'll be sticking to version 88 until that happens.
