When I try to save a web page to the site https://megalodon.jp/ I see a message like this (https://megalodon.jp/pc/get_simple/decide):

This is not the case in other browsers.

at work we use a proxy network with authentication ONLY with the firefox browser i have proxy problems. I see the page access denied by the proxy server, the only solution is to close and open the application.

My network is using proxy to get connected to internet. User authenticate to proxy using username and password from Active Directory. I am unable to authenticate to proxy, it keep asking password even I have supplied the correct password. I tested the condition using other browser and it works with Chromium. How should I connect to the proxy ?

Hi, Im using Burp Suite for testing purposes on my other pc. I have to open proxy 127.0.0.1:8080 in order to listen in. I've checked "Use this proxy server for all protocols" and "Remote DNS" However when i change the proxy settings on firefox and try to load up a website it says: "Unable to find the proxy server"

Anyone that can help me?

Firefox 60.2.0 ESR on Win7 and Win10 - but a lot of versions below had same problem

We use a proxy - normally with a .PAC file via System Settings but tested settings within FF with .PAC file or directly entered proxy.

It prompts after every launch of FF for Proxy credentials and NEVER shows the "Would you like Firefox to save this login..."

For any other site it always offers storing the credetials and it works like it should be.

EXCEPT I found one solution: When launching FF Cancel the "Authentication Required" (sometimes 3 to 7 times canceling). Than open any page on the web and authenticate against the proxy - it will show the "Would you like Firefox to save this login..." and it is visible in the password store. Thereafter everything is operational.

Another problem: If you ever click on "Never save" for proxy saving credential this proxy site it NOT added to the Exceptions list and cannot be removed and I did not find any way to solve it except removing the Firefox profile.

Tested with German and English Version Searched for a solution since a year ever and ever again configured dozens of parameters in about:config which I found on the web. Credentials for every other site are always saved.

Users with a old Firefox profiles with saved proxy credential do not have this problem, only new FF profiles - since at least a year possilbly longer.

In Firefox i set an SOCKS5 proxy. But for the past months it is numerous case that i accidentally accessed webpages being not proxiffied / not using proxy and i was unaware about this and realised the fact too late..

For example after proxy managing plugin installation or i temporarilly disabled proxy.

My aim is to prevent me accessing webpages without proxy. I mean somehow locking the firefox proxy configuration so even plugins cant modiffy my firefox proxy setting.

Just want to be sure i will never access internet without proxy.

Having latest Firefox and WIndows Vista.

PS: i sitll need unproxiffied access to certain websites. I have the whitelist in my Firefox proxy configuration now.

I know the support forum isn't the best place for this, but I really don't know how else to get people's thoughts on this. I get the impression the Devs have no idea how or why some people use Firefox.

I've been using Firefox on and off before it was even at version 1.0. When I started working at a big company in 2008 with a locked-down IT policy, Firefox had me 100% covered, and did everything I could ever dream of wanting it to do.

In the last year or two, key features that always made it a winner have slowly been disappearing, and now it has gotten to the point that it is actually barely any better than IE11, and no different than Chrome. Why? Big reason is now addons don't work, or can't work the way they used to/need to, but it goes beyond that.

1. I can no longer have my homepage open, when I load a new tab. This is absolutely mind boggling, even internet explorer can do that! NOTE: My homepage is a webpage saved on my harddrive that I made that gives me quick access to everything I need to do for work. I used to be able to load it natively, then it became something that required an add-on, and now it is completely broken, and impossible to do.

2. Devs clearly don't understand the concept of a PROXY. Lots of people (i.e. in corporate environments) have everything go through a proxy. I can't even use the firefox installer anymore (as I discovered yesterday) because it requires a direct connection to the internet.

3. Speaking of Proxy issues, when I open firefox, it immediately needs to connect to the internet, resulting in proxy authentication pop-ups. These used to be Auto-accepted with the addon AUTO-AUTH, however with the new web API crap this apparently isn't possible. There are settings in firefox that are supposed to auto-accept proxy-logins, but they don't work. So - I'm stuck hitting enter every single time I open the bloody program. There is no way to delay or stop firefox from automatically trying to connect to the internet which is also stupid.

4. I could go on, but what's the point... the Devs don't care. Time to go back to FF v51 or whatever version it was before things went so wrong and hang on to that, with my windows 7 installation. Sigh.

I get the error message at the bottom. Yes, my firefox already has "no proxy" selected in the preferences page. I'm able to use Edge fine, but for firefox it does not seem to matter what network I try to connect to. Occasionally it will load some websites like Wikipedia, but then immediately fail anything past that or if I try a different site. Sometimes if I try youtube it will only partially load and then the unable to connect to proxy message will appear in the embedded page videos. Sometimes trying a network reset and then restarting the pc fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't... I don't know if it has anything to do with this issue but I'm also using NordVPN. Sometimes I am able to get to websites before nord connects itself, sometimes it doesn't matter even if nord does not try to autoconnect. Sometimes it will connect and my internet works fine. I've tried setting up an actual nord proxy through firefox preferences and it doesn't help either. Proxy or no proxy I can't get things to load. When attempting to reach sites I'll get a little message in the bottom left corner of firefox as it tries to reach a website, stuff like: reading img-getpocket.cdn.mozilla.net, looking up *sitename*

Don't know what the problem is and I exhausted my limited IT knowledge a while ago, googling for answers hasn't helped.

Hi, I have not used my Kodak digital camera since I changed over to Mozilla Firefox and I am unable to connect with the Kodak server.(?) Or Locator. Kodak says to choose tools-preferences and online settings tab. Then 'Use an HTTP Proxy Server and enter my HTTP Address and port Number.' It says to find them in preferences dialog box but I am lost and am unable to find what I need. Can someone help me configure Firefox?

We are experiencing an issue with random intermittent Mozilla Proxy Authentication prompts. We are running Mozilla firefox in a Windows domain and using a clearswift proxy server. I've tried a large number of configuration changes with Firefox but still get these annoying prompts. This obviously looks bad to our user base. We do not suffer the same issues with IE11 or Google Chrome.

Please can anyone help before we look to remove this software and go for an alternative browser?

I have users trying to download firefox updates, but they are being blocked by the proxy. If I whitelist download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net. Will that give users the ability to download other installs like add-ons?

Hello! I have access to internet via proxy. It requires autentification. But firefox doesn't save login and password for that proxy and prompts autentification each time. Is it possible to get this issue fixed? Firefox 59.0.2 64bit.

When I open new tab it just shows blank screen and it keeps loading forever, tried safe mode and reinstalling and it doesnt change a thing. Also tried disabling addons, pluggins one by one and my f secure antivirus with no success. Problem doesnt happen all the time, but it does at least 70% of the times. Sometimes it helps if i copy the page address and open it with a open in a new tab button.

I use the a proxy :

every time I use it I get the message Secure Connection Failed...

Is there a way I can add an exception for this?

It does not sync, I tried everything I added our corporate certificate, I can browse but It does not sync. All my other devices are ok.

I'm sending this from my phone because my computer won't connect. I have version 38.0.6 and that it says Funnelcake June 2015, under that is says mozilla37-1.0 It says up to date. Everytime I try to type in an address it says Unable to connect. Can't establish a connection. It won't let me report or troubleshoot because it can't connect to mozilla.org. It's been like this for 30 min. I've tried the refresh, restarting without add ons. Nothing. Help!
