57.0.4 Browser crashed, Recently closed tabs and Recently closed windows are gone, blindsided by the updated FF version. I installed a new Mysession manager plugin but that doesn't restore the ones I lost. Where are the old sessions stored and how can I restore them? The browser is not offering that function any longer! Please understand I'm not a developer or programmer and complex solutions don't work for me.

I run Ubuntu 10.10 LTSP server/client network and DO NOT want to upgrade Ubuntu... too much trouble, nobody can guarantee it will not hammer my LTSP install and besides, Unity is awful. I need newer Firefox due to some frequently used web pages, so I need an install procedure that will not hammer anything. It's a mission critical user environment. If anybody has positive experience with Firefox upgrade in similar environment please advise.

Hi,

I am trying to make WebRTC audio call to Asterisk version 11.

OS: Ubuntu 12.04.

The call gets connected successfully to Asterisk but after that there is NO AUDIO in browser.

I see lot of discard packet logging. Which transport flow is not ready? DTLS??

Please help to resolve the audio issue.

Hello,

I see this issue happened for other people but I coudnt find the right answer :

I am on Linus and whatever the version I take (latest I tried is 67.0b9), I have an error trying to run it in command line.

$ ./firefox (or with the -headless I tried too)

PCOMGlueLoad error for file /local/vestbin/oxygen-uat/drivers/firefox/libnspr4.so
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Couldn't load XPCOM.

I checked all preriquisites and installed GTK3 but Still have the error.

What could it be ?

Thanks and Regards, Jeremy.

I'm running Firefox 26 on OpenSUSE 13.1 64bits. I got problem in Firefox 26 to use IBM Lotus iNotes and the recommandation is to revert to Firefox 24 ESR. I tried to do this, but it didn't work.

Now i uninstall all Firefox and installed the latest version (26) again. Now Firefox won't load any web-page. It just saying "Connecting..." but nothing happens. No timeout nor error-mesg.

If i run Firefox in terminal, i get this message; (process:3072): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

I also backed up the profile og recreated a new profil. I suspect that the version 24.2 ESR did some change to files, but i uninstalled everything, rebooted and installed new. Still it doesn't work :-(

What is wrong!?

Firefox is my primary browser, I use it on Linux, Windows OSX and Android. I'm writing this on Ubuntu, but really referring to my experience across all platforms.

The dialog box for the "Software Security Device" could be improved in a few ways from my point of view:

1. It seems to pop up randomly. Very often this "randomness" is because (I assume) some tab in the background needs passwords. But from the context that I'm aware of it just looks "random"

2. It pops up. Very hard to work around this one I know, but having a text-accepting dialog pop up when I'm typing text is (notoriously) annoying. To have it pop up, capture some of my text, and then not let me see the text is doubly annoying. Like most people, I'm not a touch typist, so I'm looking at the keyboard, not the screen.

3. It won't let me see the text. This is a general problem with password forms, which is slowly changing as they add "Show password text" checkboxes. The Software Security device needs it more than most because, being the "master password" it is longer and more complicated than all the other ones. 99% of the time there really is no-one who is, nor could be, looking over my shoulder. Having the text masked by default is rational, but not being able to unmask it is security theatre, not security.

4. It pops up when it is already up! This hasn't happened to me very often, merely occasionally, but when it does it is by far the most annoying thing on this list because it just doubles the frustration of everything else. And it should be the easiest thing to check: if the dialog is already up, then do not pop it up again.

5. It is confusing. What "device" are you talking about, and why is Firefox asking about it? I'm used to this one now, but must admit it really confused me when it showed up on my phone, where it must have been referring to the phone, not the browser. Why is there no mention of the "Master password" which was the phrase you used when I was setting it up, and which all the help refers to? Quick test: how many times does Firefox's help/documentation mention the "Master password", and how many times the "Software Security device". (Consider this an upvote for this page: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Self_Explaining_Password_Dialog).

Thank you for taking the time to read this and (hopefully) pass my points on to the relevant Issue Trackers, or upvting them on my behalf. Hopefully it wasn't too ranty.

It's people like you who make my life so much better.

Since 48.0 I have noticed a problem. I do have workarounds for myself, but want to know if you're interested because it may be a memory leak you are unaware of.

The reason I know of the bug is because I run firefox on linux and redirect to xwindows on my mac, and that's pretty rare I would think. Even with a new profile, open a web page in the first tab. Open a second tab and close the first tab and I get "Tab has crashed" because the system wants to open a new DISPLAY and it can't because after about 10 minutes xwindows won't let any more connections on that display. There's probably a setting for that, but I prefer it that way for security.

I'm now on 49.0.2 and still the bug is there.

I cannot just get sync to start. It continuously asks to confirm the SignIn, when tried to sync. Then it keeps sending "New sign-in to Firefox" every time it asks to sign in again.

The menu-window always just shows "Reconnect to sync..." After clicking it, it opens: about:preferences#sync There is "Sign in to continue". I sign in with the correct user+pass, it sends Email "New sign-in to Firefox", and goes to about:preferences#sync There again it asks "Please sign in to reconnect user@email" and it shows a pop-up window "Sync, enabled, Firefox will begin syncing momentarily."

... and that continues over and over again, email-box is getting new "New sign-in to Firefox" every time and it annoyingly refuse to start to sync.

The syncing with that firefox-account works with Android phone and Android-tablet, but not with Firefox v50.1.0 in Fedora Linux.

No proxies are in use. No NoScript-extension. uMatrix extensions has "enable everyting from *".

I am a web developer, and i am using Iceweasel 31.7.0 (which is based of Firefox) under Linux Debian wheezy.

A problem appears when i am writing a javascript code. My goal is to determine a size of screen (i am using typical pc, not any mobile device). So i am writing:

var body = window.document.body.style

// block to determine width body.height = '1px' for ( var i = 0; ; i++ ) {

  body.width = i + 'px'

window.document.documentElement.scrollLeft = 1

  if ( window.document.documentElement.scrollLeft != 0 )

break } i--

// block to determine height body.width = '1px' for ( var k = 0; ; k++ ) {

  body.height = k + 'px'

window.document.documentElement.scrollTop = 1

  if ( window.document.documentElement.scrollTop != 0 )

break } k--

body.width = ( i ) + 'px' body.height = ( k ) + 'px'

So after this code both scroll line appears! When it should not be because i an k variables are choosen maximum without scroll. And, moreover, an error disappears (both scroll lines disappears) when two blocks switched by place each other (first determine height, then width).

I'll appreciate at least confirmation that it is an error, even if you cannot provide a patch for Iceweasel. Thank you.

Firefox Version 63.0 (64-bit) Home build PC, 480GB SSD, 2 x 2TB HD's, 8GB Ram.

I have had problems with streaming Channel 4 TV UK for many years. I could only get it to work on Windows. Recently I have Dumped Window 10 - so slow - updates take all day. I now am using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (using Linux since 2009)

Channel 4 say they Do Not support Linux ?

I have tried to install Adobe Flash Player, but does not seam to work or download. On Ch 4 web page I pressed Allow, but say that I should install Flash Player !

Please could anyone advice me what I can do, or what I have done wrong.

Regards, Richard.

Hi here!! I review a lot of mozilla docs (out dated or without complete info), forums, googling ... about how to share firefox/thunderbird/ligthing data between platforms on dual/multiple boot system. Every user in same trouble are repeating (copy/paste) in the solution to share the SAME FULL PROFILE on all platforms. I review profile data and folders and I can see files and config data that are platform dependent; then I think that share FULL PROFILE between is not the best approach, for example Linux and Windows will produce several problems (and a lot of problems with the add-ons) In these same mozilla docs recommends to share only data and maintain custom profile for each platform, but not more info how to do it. Please can some kind advanced :) provide some info about the correct approach. Or a better tech info about how is possible the recommendation of sharing same profile between platforms without problems. Because with the current doc info, there is no way to get a clear answer (Almost I can't :~). Thx guys!

After updating to firefox 55 I can no longer access VMware vCenter web UI. Note. vCenter uses flash. I have a flash plugin installed and I can access other flash sites ok.

I get the following error when trying to login.

"Connection Error Could not connect to vSphere Web Client. Contact your administrator to fix this issue."

If I try the same from chrome I can login without issue. Also downgrading to firefox 54 allows me to login.

A webpage on our internal company domain ("") errors out with "Error SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG". If I switch to private browsing the same page works. The page also works with all other browsers without issue. If I "reset firefox", the page starts working again - even after firefox sync has re-installed all my add-ons. After some indeterminate amount of time (weeks) the page starts to error out again. This problem occurs on Firefox 75 on Ubuntu 18.04 as of now.

I'm at a total loss as to how to even begin to debug this - any pointers on where to start looking? As I mentioned the webpage that errors out the only page on an intranet so I cannot share the URL.
