For the past week or so I have been unable to play any Netflix videos in Firefox. Netflix works fine in other browsers and all other video streaming sites I've tried in Firefox still work. Initially the problem was that I would just get stuck on the red loading circle, however, after updating Firefox to the latest version (version 53), I now get an error message on Netflix telling me to check I have the latest version of Firefox, with an error code, F7702-1003. A solution posted from about a year ago involving changing the path in profiles.ini did not help, nor did removing pluginreg.dat.

I would be grateful for any assistance.

I have been playing videos with no problem using FF since the last time I had to update Adobe Flash player (which always shows up in a blank Download Manager). Anyway I tried Refreshing FF and it came up as 32 bit version (not sure if it had been 64 bit before or not) but still didn't work. Checked Silverlight and it is up to date and so is Adobe Flash Player so updated to 64 bit FF but still having trouble with some of the videos. I especially use the service provider at https://www.wwgoa.com but I can no longer play their videos. Youtube videos and these 2 content providers work: http://elitedaily.com/video/ and here http://www.sportsnet.ca/videos/but other sites do not always work.

But this example at https://www.wwgoa.com/video/strength-of-glue-joints-000330/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=A6134&vsoid=A6134 Or any of the next 4 content providers do NOT: http://allthingsd.com/20070301/web-videos/ http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/news/101-videos/mars-101-1?source=searchvideo https://www.grammy.com/videos http://fortune.com/video/ I hope someone can help soon as the one content provider charges. Thanks Barry

Can we either get an advance notification of an update to firefox? We are running a WSUS server but do not plan to extend patching support into and other 3rd party platform this year, but updates are really causing problems with a Cloud platform that we use. If there was a way to get some sort of e-mail notification, we can at least plan for it and get the updates done before our users jump on their PCs...

Many thanks

Simon

Closing as a duplicate of /questions/1159272 -J99

A while ago I upgraded my Mac to OS X 10.10.5.. Two weeks ago I also switched to using the system’s transparency option for menus en windows. In Firefox I suddenly noticed a few things (see also the attached images below):

When Transparency is turned ON:

1. The rendering of type in the FF toolbar pull down menus is noticeably more bold than in the menus from the system bar.

2. Bookmark images in the FF toolbar menus are much darker then those in the system bar menus (in a mouseover they become lighter again).

When Transparency is turned OFF:

Same differences, although less outspoken. But no difference in passive state and mouseover.

Besides that the effect is ugly and unattractive, the type becomes less readable (cluttered and unsharp), especially on dark backgrounds.

Safari and Chrome don't have this problem.

It should be noted that I still use a Cinema HD screen, not a retina screen.

Question: Is this intended behaviour or an issue that should be reported? Is there some setting in FF that can correct this?

A couple of days ago, my primary Firefox profile suddenly lost its ability to download files from a link. I can still do so from my other Firefox profiles, as well as other browsers (Edge, Opera, Chrome).

If I start this profile in 'safe mode', download function is restored.

Things I have tried with no success:

  • disabling add-ons manually
  • updating to FF 32.0
  • clearing download history
  • changing download folder to default
  • deleting mimeTypes.rdf

This is a Windows 10 machine.

Thankss

Quote: Hi keepontrying, cor-el (Site Moderator) posted a new reply in Firefox on 12-04-2017 11:19 PM :

So far, so good. I don't know if cor-el has access to our previous conversation. Quess not, so will have to start again. All drivers are up-to-date. Have been through quite a hell because FF all the time crashes before the file are downloaded. The few times downloading did not go wrong, 7-zip stated crc-errors in any file I have been downloading.

What is going on? ( I hope I will be able to tell about what is happening, before FF is going down once more.

FF crashes on a very irregular bases on a self-built standalone pc. Starting when? Probably at the moment I have changed my videocard, since Premiere Elements crashes as soon as I try to add files to the video editor timeline. Discovered that Geforce cards work better together with Adobe stuff than Radeon cards. Installed Geforce GTX 750 Ti ( known as N750 Ti-2GD5TLP ) and drivers. Didn't work, since FF crashed and there is no cd with the card. Had the standard windows driver for 1920x1200 resolution.

After so many crashes, I am as far as this, after having a chat with Geforce and discussing options. Yesterday I downloaded the 360Mb driver from Geforce for the seventh time. Again with a crc error. Downloaded drivers at the laptop and moved them to the pc. Crc again. Searched the net and found how to extract the files without running the selfextracting exe-file. At last: drivers. Installed them last night. After updating FF once more (to 53.0), there was a crash again. That happens sometimes after almost 20 minutes, sometimes within the first minute.

Here are the latest 5 crasreports (from almost one hundred): Rapport-ID Verzenddatum bp-af60bafd-b70a-457f-9d6a-91d891170420 20-4-17 13:43 bp-0029587a-a4d6-4546-af10-257691170419 20-4-17 00:06 bp-7b4cdac9-1f85-4416-a97f-114821170419 20-4-17 00:06 bp-5719a272-77d5-4d4c-9194-7ce0f0170419 19-4-17 22:25 bp-1bebf73c-91b4-4a89-b21b-754cf1170418 18-4-17 23:08

There is a driver from Kaspersky creating trouble, but these drivers are up-to-date. And there is a driver from nvidia causing troubles. The same driver all the time.

Have used the nic check program from Realtek. No errors. Have checked the router, the switch and what more there is. Windows 7 R1 is up to date.

Would be nice to see if anyone could give me a hand to show how to clear the problems. Thank you for your time and energy in advance. Greetings, Joes

I received a message that Firefox could not update in my pc but I could do it manually. When I tried, a message said password was incorrect. When i indicated I wanted to reset the password a message indicated e mail would be sent. It did not arrive either of 3 times I tried it. I was using the account I set up for support.

I have a different account I set up to sync Firefox to my tablet which uses my email account as a user name and a different password than I used for the support account. Perhaps this is the problem and maybe I should have tried signing in with that one?

I have sinmce installed Firefox 64 bit and uninstalled the32 bit program after the log in issue and have not tried to sign in since. I guess the main question is, should I continue with a support log in account and a separate one I used to sync to my tablet? If not, will one work for both and if so, which should I use? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The tech note at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Responsive_Design_Mode shows a GIF anim of how to add a custom device and user-agent. There should be a button called "Add Device" under "Edit List" but I don't have this.

I've restarted with add-ons disabled, refreshed FireFox, all without any luck. Is there a setting I'm missing?
