I recently reset my computer to a earlier time, 3 weeks earlier. When that happened, now when I click on the bookmark tab, no bookmarks come up like they used to. It's as if I no longer have any bookmarks now, or at least the drop down list does not come up. How can I get the bookmark drop down list to come up? Second, when I did some how (though trial and error) get the drop down menu to appear, my carefully sorted out bookmarks were now all of a sudden not in the correct order I had then in. It would take a long time for me to now sort out all my bookmarks, about 350 of them! It appears they are now in alphabetical order now? Once I get the bookmark menu to appear like it used to with the drop down menu, how do I get all my bookmarks to appear like they used too? Hopefully someone can help my dilemma. Thank you.

In a day Firefox crashes for more than 10 times and I need an immediate resolutions

This is a continuation of the problem report (with the exact same question) that had no solutions and was recently closed. I have no idea why an active problem report was closed. This is actually the THIRD instance of this problem report.

I had another4 occurrence a few minutes ago. I installed three MS Windows 7 patches, and a reboot was required. After the reboot, Firefox started with only 10 windows - my main window was missing. I ran my script to archive and process the three files - previous.js, recovery.bat, and recovery.js . Then I exited Firefox and re-started it. On restart, all 11 windows were present. I still do not have an answer to these questions :

1) WHY does this occur?

2) When it does occur, WHAT DIAGNOSTICS can I run to help debug this problem? This is clearly a bug in Firefox, and I want it fixed. I assume that I am the only one who is experiencing this problem, and I am willing to do almost anything to help debug this problem when it next occurs.

For those who have not read the other two problem threads - I am always running the latest non-beta Firefox, and I always run with add-ons disabled. This is a Windows 7 Professional 32-bit system.

After updating to 44.0, I am mostly unable to get FF to connect to the 'Net. Approximately 90% of the time It just hangs trying to connect.

I have found starting in safe mode works: FF connects to the 'Net.

I have found reinstalling 44.0 will work - just once. After that, FF hangs.

If I disable plugins and addons, FF _still_ does not connect.

1) I see other people are having this problem (see link above.)

2) What is the difference between disabling all addons and plugins and starting FF in safe mode?

Since the only other thread about this was closed by the powers that be, I will open it for Version 44. What happened to the "Ask me every time" option for cookies. It is the major reason that I have been using Firefox for many years. All there is now really is to allow cookies Always or Never. I never had a problem until V44 when I noticed I was no longer being asked the question to allow the setting of a cookie by new websites. Someone who does not want to be bombarded by these questions should simply turn it OFF. Those who had it turned ON (like me and countless other loyal Firefox users), have no problem with it. Now that it has been removed, the question becomes, is there a way to get it back through an easy workaround? And PLEASE, don't write this issue off because it is "a developer issue" as I read in the previous thread about this disaster. It is not. It is a privacy issue and my bet is that ALL who selected this option, want it back!

I am trying to register on a website but the boxes where I am supposed to enter my registration information aren't showing up. If you go to this page:

then click the "Sign Up" link, the page will reload with a blank white box in the middle of the screen (this is using FF 44.0.2 safe mode with all add-ons disabled)

This is my last straw using Firefox unless this is remedied. . Open any webpage with Firefox and literally HUNDREDS of ports are connected out. One time I counted 278 ports were open (screen capture then counted). This slows my PC down to a crawl to the point of freezing up. Nothing in the browser will work until, usually about a minute later, ports start to close. I do not want to hear it is my PC, this problem did not happen in 10 or so previous versions of Firefox. This port opening problem was slowly growing over the last (about) 10 versions. EVERYTHING on my PC is up to sate, drivers, hardware, etc. and yada-yada. IT IS NOT my PC, it is Firefox software.

Does anyone here know where on my computer my Firefox logins/passwords are stored? What is the file extension and name? When I login via my Master password it say the following: "Logins for the following sites are stored on your computer" However I cannot find where the above information is located on my computer.

I went through the trouble shooting steps of, checking firewall, deleting and re-adding Firefox to exception list. I've updated and did a full system scan with ESET Nod 32, I disabled add-ons, I uninstalled and reinstalled into a new folder I was able to use Firefox until I closed the browser and now when I restarted it, no web pages will load BUT I have no issues with other programs or browsers connecting and using the network and internet. Currently I am connected to my network and internet using a CISCO USB Wi-Fi stick. This issue just started last night after I upgraded to version 44.0

Following the instructions given for the download and install of firefox 45 I can run it from the terminal but that is it. I can not find the information needed to complete the install. Also even though it runs 45 from the terminal the flash player is outdated and I ran into the same issue with that install as well. I am running Zorin 10 ultimate 64 bit OS. I have ran into issues with Ubuntu commands not working for Zorin on two different versions. This one and 9 core 64.

My devices haven't synced in 3 weeks (my phone says 2/2/2016; my personal laptop says 2/7/2016). When I click the 'sign in' button on the sync page on my work laptop, it just gives me a screen that says '500 Error Oh dear, something went wrong there. We've been notified and will get working on a fix." with a big blue 'Home' button that takes me nowhere (see image attached).

My problem has to do with my inability to restore my bookmarks. To begin with, at some point recently, my bookmarks "disappeared". I initially thought that they were lost and gone forever - but subsequently found an encouraging note that Firefox saves the last fifteen backups - backups that are done automatically. With that information in hand, I went to the Mozilla article 'Restoring from backups". Per the instructions, I clicked on the Bookmarks button, selected "All Bookmarks" to open the Library window, clicked "Import and Backup" and then selected "Restore". A number of backups appeared in a list and I selected the one that I wanted to restore from. It is 40.7 kb in size and has 500 items. (Needless to say, when I saw that information, I breathed a major sigh of relief.) I highlighted that one and clicked "OK". According to the article : "Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored." Wrong! There has been no restoration. There has been no change in the bookmarks list . My question: What need I do - or what need I do differently - to restore the bookmarks? Thanks again.

Ever since the update of V44.0 on Jan-26-16, I cannot visit some web sites as Firefox always reverts back to whatever page I was on before. For example: If I'm on cbcnews.ca and go to salon.com. After the Salon home page loads, it immediate;y revers back to cbcnews.ca. I've rebooted my computer and I still have the same issue. This problem only seesm to affect salon.com. Any reason why this is happening?

When I opened options security all my saved host and password data was gone. Opening saved logins I found nothing--no data. I am having to rebuild my site, user name and password data from scratch. Thankfully I exported (most of) this information to convey it to my will executor, so I have 4 pages of printout to help me. WTF.

For the last few years, when opening multiple tabs (esp. facebook. For example 2 dozen of facebook tabs, usually much less if other websites are already loaded on other tabs), black rectangles appear on the page, and after opening a few more tabs, Firefox becomes unresponsive and crashes. Since I already know what's coming, usually I don't let it come to this, but restart Firefox when black appears on the page. (to be more precise about this black thing: the whole page would be black and Firefox button and tabs would also not be displayed correctly (see attachment), and then when elements are graphically "rerendered", like on mouseover event, or when scrolling, they sometimes would be shown normally again.) Still, overall I've submitted so far over a thousand crash reports.

I tried reinstalling Firefox, "Refresh Firefox", and this behaviour still happens on safe mode. Since many times RAM usage would be maxed, I upgraded my RAM to see if the problem would be solved. While performance improved, the problem persisted and I found out there's no need for RAM usage to be maxed out for these crashes to happen. I believe unchecking the hardware acceleration setting didn't help either. I vaguely remember reading about an open bug about black on pages. One way or the other, any help or ideas how to solve this problem or what would be causing it would be greatly appreciated.

Using 10.6.8 and FF 44.0.2.

I have had this problem for months. Through all FF versions. I use Sophos for antivirus. My clock date and time are exactly correct. This happens intermittently but frequently; several times a day. The same problem happens on my laptop, running Yosomite, so it is not related to this old Mac operating system.

The topic where I first (mis)posted this thread had a link provided by jscher2000, a link s/he gave out for someone who has similar error messages. When I clicked on his/her link, I actually received the Secure Connection Failed message (first image below). And as with EVERY other site I have had this (or The Connection was Reset) problem, refresh caused the page to load normally.

Attached also is a Secure Connection Failed at amazon.com, and the last one is The Connection was Reset at weather.gov.

As the images show, there is no other error code or message. I am a home user and for sure not a power user, so please keep that in mind when you make suggestions. For example, I had so much difficulty in getting some of my addons to work that I'd rather live with this problem for years than to try to reinstall addons. Anyway, I don't see how addons can cause it, as installation for all of them predated the problem.

Recently I have tried to open several different web-sites, and nothing happens other than a box appears showing: "clk (GIF image, 1 x 1 pixels)" However I am running Norton Internet Security, and it does not seem to have a banner ad option. I have spent a lot of time online with Nortons support and they have remoted in to my computer and performed a few functions including resetting firefox, but to no avail. Running win 7 SP1, and Firefox 44.0.2 NIS ver 22.5.5.15
