Screenshot won't paste, but it says:

"The operation can't be completed bc some items had to be skilled. For each item choose File>Get Info, make sure "Locked" is deselcted, and then check the Sharing and Permissions section. When ready etc try again."

Which items are locked and how do I find them? Is there a workaround?

Thanks for your help Ben

How to disabl "blue underlined links" (which I did not code) in FireFox? Here's an example website that has no underlined links coded in the simple html source: www.setv.org. After I updated FireFox to a more recent FireFox version, blue underlines appear in websites. I know that there is a way to disable that annoying 'feature'.

Thanks in Advance

Can anyone point me to the firefox version 28 exe file fore windows?

I can find this link " https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ " but it lists a number for version 28s (28.0, .0b1/2/3.../9) and the sub-directories there are a mess of stuff that I have no idea where to go and what to get.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I updated to 29 and the GUI change is too much for me, so I installed a really old version of ff and am looking to update back to 28 until I feel like I want to adjust to 29.

When I go from MSN (on my Mac), it redirects me to update my browser. I then go to a Mozilla page that tells me that it looks like I'm running an older version. I then follow the instructions to get an update, and am told that my Firefox is currently up to date. I dislike the extra step Microsoft makes me go through, and the conflicting messages from Mozilla.

How do I get out of this?

I set up a new computer yesterday which is running windows 8.

I downloaded Firefox, then added tree style tabs and colourful tabs after which I powered off for the night. Today on rebooting and opening up Firefox I find that I have a vertical grey bar between my tabs (and same width as them) and the Firefox page. There is no right click options within that large grey area - and of course it's pushing my pages off the right hand side of the screen. How do I get rid of this blasted thing??????

I was cleaning up my desktop by moving my unused files to organized folders, example being OriginalGameName being dragged into Games; and I happened to have an AVG virus scan running in the backround at the same time. I created a folder named installers, and dragged in Firefox_Setup.exe first. AVG immediately launched a warning window, saying it was a trojan and giving me an option to remove it.

Of course, why would the installer of my favourite internet browser include a Trojan Horse? I mean, my Firefox browser works fine and I also just so happen to be posting this on Firefox.

I was instantly suspicious, and opened up SpyBot Search & Destroy and scanned. No results, so the AVG window seemed to be safe. I clicked the option on the AVG window to remove the alleged Trojan Horse, then scanned again with SpyBot to make sure that it wasn't the type of fake AVG warning window's that installs a trojan after an option is chosen.

So yes, I'm sure that I haven't gotten a fake AVG warning. And yes, I downloaded the installer from the site.

I am also rather paranoid about virus's, and I have two different antivirus's that I scan with every time I visit a unfamiliar website or download anything and I am generally wary when browsing the internet. I know I've given a large amount of information, but I'm trying to save you from having to ask a million questions about the information I left out. I know there's a post similar to this, but I feel that the other post didn't include enough information leading to unsatisfactory answers. Info dump over.

I just recently ran an update. Now I do not have the "search" feature when I right click. I used this extensively, and would really like the option back. I Googled this problem and found nothing useful, and also checked the support area here and still nothing. I am creating a web page with HTML5 video. I made a layer with the video object that is hidden with CSS until the user clicks a link. When the user clicks the link, I use a JavaScript function to show and play the HTML5 video object. Works fine except that Firefox keeps the play button overlay in place while my video is playing! If I click on the overlay, the video pauses. Then if I click on it again, the overlay disappears and the video resumes playing.

I realize there are workarounds that can be hacked. But it's definitely a bug that the overlay stays in place after the video has started via a JavaScript command. I hope this problem finds its way to the right people at Mozilla for resolution.

Thanks, - DK
