My homepage has been hijacked by accesd.desjardins.com, It started happening Wednesday evening so I cleared cookies and history etc, ran my AV program and reset my home page. It took quite awhile to get my AV going b/c I was getting error msgs for the longest time but it did get rid of 2 viruses when it finally worked and everything was fine until last night.

I should note that I also tried starting Firefox in safe mode but it didn't do anything at all. My AV is at 81% right now and shows no signs of a virus yet.

I have been running Firefox 3.6.17 because of it being compatible with NoScript, AdBlock, and FEBE. I wanted to upgrade Firefox, and found none of those add-ons are up to Firefox 15. I went down to Firefox 12, but still no luck. I will not run Firefox with those 3 add-on's, and would like to know, what is the newest version of Firefox, the supports/runs NoScript, Adblock, and FEBE?

Hope I don't have to go back to 3.6 although it was running fine, just wanted to try an upgrade.

Thanks in advance!  :)

When I open a PDF using Firefox, some letters in words that are printed across the document are missing. I believe the creator of the document used a text box to add "Draft" on it. The D is missing. Other words I have found are "Copy Non-negotiable" and the C is missing. These same PDFs open fine in IE and Chrome. Have experienced it on V22-V25. Using Windows7

Today i encountered a strange problem. My firefox stopped displaying UTF-8 characters, especially dingbats (U+2700) using the default font "Times New Roman".

This is shown: http://imgur.com/Ym9IB on http://www.danshort.com/unicode/ (select by hex 2700)

I changed the default font to DejaVu Sans and everything showed up correctly.

Does anyone know whats wrong with my Firefox? Tried a new profile, with addons disabled and so on... nothing helped.

Internet Explorer shows same site without problems using Times New Roman.

Is there a setting which might cause this?

After the update to 12.0, my browser has changed to pink. Attempting to change the colors back (after reading the forum posts) I discovered that the palettes were entirely pink.

I did start Firefox in safe mode and the pink went away, suggesting that one of my add-ons was to blame, but after disabling all of them one at a time (except for the default theme ...the only one I have) the pink remained.

I still have this problem and now it is starting to affect the browsers functionality and useability. When Firefox is my default browser any link outside of Firefox (like in my e-mail) won't open which is becoming a nuisance. I am running Windows 7 which may be the cause of the problem via a setting but I can't locate the needle in the haystack or it may have happened at a Firefox update. Firefox has been my favorite and only browser since Netscape 1.0 but if I can't resolve this problem I will have to switch to another which I really don't want to do. Help!!!

This code works fine IE but when used with firefox does nothing, it does not go for printing. I can use Control+P but it will not dim print and close buttons.

Ask.com gives these directions:

"First make sure you don't have the Ask Toolbar installed, as it may cause the homepage to revert to Ask. You can find this toolbar in your Firefox Extensions. In the upper right corner of your Firefox windows there should be an icon with three horizontal lines stacked up. Click those three lines, then from the menu that appears, click Add-ons. Once you have the Add-ons screen up, click Extensions on the left hand side. Then look through your extensions for the Ask Toolbar and remove it. You may still need to change your homepage once you have removed those programs, which you can do by following the instructions below."

But I can't get to a Firefox window from ask.com.

I have tried to set the BBC News page as my home page but whenever I start I see the Google page. I have tried dragging the BBC icon (on the BBC URL line) onto the house icon on the extreme right of the screen and seen a message "Do you want this document...page", clicked Yes, closed FF, restarted and seen the Google page.

Similarly I have started the BBC News page gone into Tools, Options, set the home page to "Use Current page", clicked OK, closed, restarted and seen the Google page again.

I have run Malwarebytes (Free) and repeated the above processes but still have the Google page.

I am currently running FF v12.0 with Win 7 HP on my laptop.

Why is Google my default page and how can I remove it?

Thank you,

For the last few weeks I have a problem when viewing Flash videos full screen- after a few seconds of working properly the screen pauses and then speeds up / surges to catch up then pauses again. Disabling hardware acceleration does nothing and pressing ctrl-0 (as per the help topic on flash videos) prevents the stuttering. Infact if I press ctrl-0 constantly it plays fine. Playing the same flash video via IE is no problems. There's no disk thrashing or high CPU / memory usage (accourding to task manager) when this happens. I've tried removing and re-installing Flash and also the same for Firefox. Any ideas? At the moment I'm using the "open in IE" add-in but it's a bit annoying....

whenever I view a YouTube video on my linux box (Centos 5.8, fully updated) using Firefox12, YouTube always delivers the html5 video to me instead of Flash. This would be fine, but intermittently the video stops moving (while the audio keeps playing). I click the (I don't know what it's called) slider for the current position and the video will start moving again. until it pauses next time, anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. I don't know why it delivers html5 instead of flash, on my laptop using centos 6 and firefox12 I get flash video. Is there someway to configure Firefox to get flash instead? If not, I'd appreciate help in fixing the pausing video component.
