I took a video on a Google Pixel 7 mobile. It plays back on the Android cell properly. I can log into my Google Photos via my Windows 10 PC and the video will play back properly. I also downloaded the video file (MP4) to be saved directly in my Videos folder on my Windows 10 PC. When I try to play the video by clicking / opening the downloaded file on my PC I get an error message. See that message attached. It is prompting me to "download a new codec". Why? In my Firefox browser I currently have the Open H264 Video Codec by Cisco plugin enabled. Why is the Cisco plugin not sufficient? Is the Cisco plugin being updated? Does Firefox browser need to be updated? Is Is Firefox working on a fix?

I had Firefox set to load 4 tabs when started. Something has changed recently and now it seems as if the same 4 sites keep repeating somehow. I have set the Home/Custom URLs to these 4 sites, but cannot prevent them to load again when already loaded.

I am using theme called WhiteSur to imitate Safari, as that is the browser layout I prefer. However, this doesn't change the position of the close tab button and leaves it on the right hand side. I found a way to change it, using the code .tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {

 margin-left: -5px !important;
 margin-right: 2.5px !important;

} Unfortunately, this doesn't change based on the size of the tab, so if I set it to a size that is good for only having 1 tab, it will look bad or be off the screen for the other amounts of tabs. Is there a way to detect the width of the tab or the amount of tabs open and dynamically set the margins based off of this? So I could set it as (width-of-tab)-x and that would always keep the close tab button in the same spot, regardless of tab size. Thanks!

I noticed that after the recent updates, the pop-up notification for blocked pop-ups has changed from yellow to white.. This makes it very difficult to see and I almost missed it. Is there a way to revert this change using userChrome.css?

I don't understand why this unnecessary change was made. I already have my own userChrome style for the entire Firefox because it was frustrating to constantly change it back after each update.

I would appreciate any information on how to revert this change.

As the title says when I am using the video player on Coursera website I am not able to hide the control bar while on fullscreen mode (even if I don t move my mouse for more than 15 seconds). I ve attached a screenshot with the control bar being displayed. (also the captions are overlapping with that control bar) I ve also tried different ways of opening the fullscreen mode (click on the "Full Screen" button or by pressing 'F'). I don t have this problem on websites like YouTube.

Hi, I got a new laptop recently and ever since then I've been experiencing this problem. Websites like https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com or https://ukutabs.com offer the option to autoscroll, so that you can play your instrument without having to pause your playing and scroll further yourself. This feature hasn't been working for me ever since I got my new device and since it's various sites, I suppose the problem must be in the browser itself, I just can't figure it out. In the case of Ultimate Guitar, when I click autoscroll, it does move slightly, once, but then stops again, and you'd miss the movement if you're not paying close attention. I can switch between various speeds on this site as well, but it doesn't do anything. In case of Ukutabs, there's not even any kind of response from the site when I click the option. I tried turning on and off Firefox settings concerning autoscrolling and smooth scrolling, but nothing solved my problem.

Preferences in user.js are added permanently to prefs.js and persist even after user.js is deleted. What if you want to specify preferences in a file, just like with user.js, but you don't want them to be made permanent? In other words, so that when the file is deleted, the prefs will be forgotten. Is there any way to do this?

It hard to explain what I mean so I recorded video, link is below. I want Firefox to behaves the same as Chrome. So as you can see, when I use address field for quick search then pop-up appears with search results. And I click on these search results with middle mouse button. But on Chrome it works normally and on Firefox not. I am redirected to just opened tab what is really annoying. I must go back, input the same if I want open several result. How to change this behaviour to achieve the same what I have in Chrome?

Also it’s exactly the same when it comes to bookmarked pages in a folder on the bookmark bar. When we click folder with bookmarks we have dropdown menu with bookmarked web pages from this folder. And when I click something with middle mouse button then page opens in new tab but this dropdown menu disappears, and again I must click folder when I want open more sites. In chrome it doesn’t. How to set it the same for this?

Yes, I know addons exist for it but many work places don't allow installing addons, security wise they can be a concern and these addons have poor UI/UX. I am genuinely considering using Edge over Firefox due to them having better tab groups which I never though I would say. Please implement a simple tab folder, literally just what current Edge has. It is a very useful basic feature and I would really love to have it included in my favorite browser I have been using for over a decade. Thank you.

Current version of Firefox on Windows 11. Menu bar hidden when Firefox started. I have tried every setting suggested and understand how to turn it on, but next time I start Firefox, menu bar is hidden again. Reinstalling Firefox -- no joy. Restarting in safe mode -- no joy. Help!

why do my add-ons keep getting disabled?

ff keeps disabling add-ons that i have used for years and even keep a v. 5 to use the older add-ons and use the latest ff developer to use w/ more modern websites. ff even disables add-ons that worked perfectly well in ff developer and does not even give me the opportunity to re-enable them like i could before.

is there any way to force my old version to let ME decide what i want disabled/enabled?

I am looking for the widget.windows.window_occlusion_tracking.enabled preference setting on Linux. I was wondering if this setting was available on Linux? I have seen it on Windows. I was also wondering when this setting was introduced and if it is still active in the latest version of Firefox.

When I open a new browser and start to type www in the URL firefox auto suggests youtube.com instead of google.com. This is something that has just started with the new update. My previous version auto suggested google.com when I typed www into the URL. How do I get that back? I don't want to turn off the suggestion feature I just want it to default to google.

It has reinstalled all my other extentions, but hasn't my password manager for some reason. Or at least I can't find it. I also can't remember the name of it, and so don't know what to search to download it again. Is there a way to see historic extentions or something?

Is there a way to skip the wait for the "Accept the Risk and Continue" button to appear? I assemble and set up copiers for a living. Every single one of them has a self-signed certificate. I see this "Potential security risk ahead" screen dozens of times a day because of this. I understand why I'm seeing it. I understand the importance of a security warning like that. What I would like to do is skip the delay between when you click on advanced and the "Accept risk and continue" button becoming available to be clicked on. That or some way to disable that security warning specifically for self-signed certificates would be ideal.

As the subject says, i cannot remove the up and down arrows from forms that have a numerical input even though autofill/history options are cleared and disabled. I've even tried deleting cookies, cache, site data and so on, to no avail. I've also tried a clean terminal with no extensions installed and i have the same issue. Other browsers do not have this issue on the exact same form. I am at a loss, any assistance would be appreciated.

Can anyone help me out and others on this matter? several months ago appears FB decided to screw everyone over by arbitrarily forcing auto refresh. If you're reading something long and or have to step away for a moment it is gone.

Some have posted for chrome they have an extension that stopped it. The only one on FF does not work. I tried it, does nothing at all. Time for FF to fix this issues allowing you to turn it on or off at my will.

I've been encountering a persistent error with Firefox, and I'm hoping someone here might have a solution. Whenever I try to open Firefox, I keep getting an error message that says "Secure Connection Failed" for certain websites. It's really frustrating because it's preventing me from accessing important sites. I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, but the issue persists.
