Almost every time I am on Facebook and click on Farmville to play that game, the first time I click on to go to my farm, I've been getting the "official-looking" red firefox screen and logo pop up with a gray colored pop up box that says it's an urgent firefox update. I've never clicked on the save button, I alwasy click cancel, close the pop up box, go back to Facebook and click on Farmville again, and everything runs fine, The latest one I encountered says it was a Java script coming from the following link, again it popped up after I logged into Facebook, and clicked on Farmville. Here's the link and file info: Urgent firefox update firefox-patch.js JavaScript File (2.6 KB) from https://podaimt2.net https://podaimt2.net/4761283090238/bea2ae3697608b4f8ce3a682c30d7e46.html

About once a week I'm prompted to accept a download from Firefox normally while I'm reading a news article. Every few days, I launch Firefox, click tools, help and check for updates. I do maintain the latest version. I'm currently on version 47.0.1 on a Windows 7 64 bit Pc.

I'm not sure if an add-on needs updating or if spyware is trying to download. In the past, when I know I have the current version of Firefox installed, I quickly start task manager and end the FireFox task without clicking anything else that could allow spyware to download. I went back to the page (link is below) where I received the download message but it didn't display this time. If this is an add-on update, where can I verify I need it?

Can anyone tell me if this is legitimate? if so, what is downloading?

I have been seeing an entire orange screen which tells me it is important I do a download right away. It kept popping up so I clicked download and then noticed the URL looked suspicious. I can't remember it entirely but I remember it had japan at the end of it. Has anybody else received this? Does anyone know if this is legit or is it a hack? By the way, why doesn't foxfire have a way to just ask them a question? This is stupid customer service. This is about as dumb as some of the stupid questions 911 asks when someone calls them with an urgent life saving need.

I have had this happen to me on 6 different times where i was on different websites reading articles the this would pop up...... See attachment. This was the last one i got and i have 5 more that were stopped by my webroot and blocked it. All 6 of these did not have Mozilla http:// designation so i did nothing but close them out when it was asked to update the patch.

For the last few weeks, I have been getting fake Firefox Urgent Update popups. Being suspicious, I just opened Task Manager and closed all my Firefox links; cleared my cookies; and, then, when I ran my anti-virus, it showed a clean scan. But, the popup is still a hassle.

After carefully noting what websites I had open when it re-appeared, I narrowed it down to the free web radio site that I use to listen to Blues. Here is the link for the home page: https://theworldofblues.com/OnlineBluesRadio/contact-us/

Note that the popup does not re-appear when I have just the home page opened. Yet, when I click on the link to, "On Air Now Listen Live", in less than ten minutes the probe appears.

I also took a photo of the file download info and am trying to upload that photo to this message; however, it is taking a long time, so I do not know whether it is going to load (a photo in a jpg format). Anyway, here is the file information that shows up:

firefox-patch.js 3.9 KB - shixueroski.net - August 17

Tonight, I wrote to the IT Tech group of the website, to notify them about the malware linked to their site. I want them to purge it so that I can safely use their services.

Anyway, I wanted to let Firefox know of my deductions and actions taken. If I can provide any other assistance, I would be pleased to help.
