When I delete bookmarks, they reappear again after a few minutes. Just like that, I delete them and they reappear in the bookmarks bar or in the admin page in a time that ranges from a couple of seconds up to several minutes. When I restart Firefox, they always reappear.

I hace sync activated, but the other devices are offline while I do this.

This has been happening for years. I've checked all the solutions at these forums and in Reddit, but none seem to work. I've deleted places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite multiple times. I've disabled sync in all devices and re-enabled it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled.

Any suggestions to fix it? This is not a show stopper, but it certainly is annoying to the point of considering moving to Edge, that seems to sync properly.

I use Firefox on macOS and Windows 10, Firefox Nightly on android, I save all bookmarks in the toolbar. Syncing between macOS and android is perfect, but not between macOS and Windows 10. If I add a bookmark in the folder, after syncing on another device, the new bookmark will be in the toolbar instead of the folder I selected. Also, all newly-added bookmarks are not in order.

Thanks in advanced!

If I open a page and immediately click one of my Bookmark Bar shortcuts to a different page, the current page reloads instead. Some pages take a second or longer to load, and I don't want to wait to click a different shortcut. I can also click the X to stop the current page loading and then other shortcuts work fine. It's when the current page is still loading which ANY other bookmark is clicked that Firefox merely reloads the page that I'm already on. This is really annoying. It will do it continuously if I keep clicking on any shortcut when the page loads. The same page, the original page. Forever.

How can I permanently force firefox's automatic updates to be turned off? Which guy modified the original design for the new version of Firefox bookmarks? Is there something wrong with that man's brain? Is the spacing of the new bookmark item too large to read? It's very uncomfortable.

Hello Mozilla Support!

It is 0500 here so I will try to get to the point with a little problem. I have just created an account here as I have been unable to get much sense from people in IT (retail mainly) or general tech forums which has led to a certain degree of frustration regarding FF bookmarks. But first, I want to say that I have been using FF browser for sixteen years and love it - I am aware of Chrome but prefer Fox; I dislike IE. Thank you for all you are doing.

A little background: in March my old pc suddenly packed up and it felt like an old friend had died. It was running Win-7 (Pro) which I knew was no longer supported but I liked it, and the pc was reliable for ten years. I was told that the motherboard (ASUS) had gone, and after numerous questions and delays, the computer has been rebuilt with a new z590 mb (also ASUS), a gen 11 cpu and a SS drive running Win-10 as it was time to upgrade. I don't like Win-10 at this point because W7 seemed easier to use - I am not a gamer, just a browser. I still have the Win-7 Pro disc but have been told that this new MB will not boot Win-7. I will try to get around this somehow.

The main issue is this: over the years I had collected a large number of bookmarks, and although I was not using many of them, I think it's useful to save things and with FF it is easy to do. The old C drive from the computer (the 3.5 type - by WD) is now in a drive-reading enclosure and I can see Programs and Folders. I feed it into the computer I am using atm - an older pc running Win-7 Home. I found the Mozilla Firefox folder and another one named 'bookmarks' but I cannot see any reference to the bookmarks I saved or any option to Export Bookmarks. I know what this means as I have used it successfully before.

So, please tell me if it is possible to find then Save and/or Export those bookmarks from the enclosed C drive to either THIS computer or preferably the other (rebuilt) computer, bearing in mind that the other one is operating as described with a z590 mb. Will it be possible? Many thanks in advance!

Btw, I really did NOT like Win-10 when I finally got that other pc back - LATE JUNE!! - after weeks of waiting. The first thing I did was install Firefox and it felt better immediately. Again I thank you! Michael.

Unable to see or use comments in YouTube since the latest update, I did a system restore on my computer back to June 2nd. At some point, I moved a new folder entitled something like "old Firefox" into the trash that appeared on my desktop. I've cleared my computer trash bin since then, thinking that doing so didn't delete the actual file. I have no idea where that would be :-(

Now I don't have any bookmarks! Since I only have one profile, it seems I should be able to get whatever bookmarks Firefox has saved for me, but I can't see any way of doing that. HELP, PLEASE!

tl;dr - Refreshed Firefox, most of my profile has restored normally, but not Bookmarks (or Browsing History). I cannot restore Bookmarks from the .json backups, and I do not have an HTML backup.

Firefox would not load any pages this morning, even after updating to most recent version (89) and restarting the app then the entire computer, so I refreshed Firefox. Good news is, pages load now! Bad news is my bookmarks all disappeared, and they were still gone even after I made the Bookmarks Toolbar visible. The Import Bookmarks button only gives me the option to import from Internet Explorer or Chrome, but not from previous version of Firefox.

I went to Manage Bookmarks, and the Import and Backup seems to have some recent bookmark back-ups, giving me options for back-ups from today (Monday) then Saturday (last new bookmark), etc. But when I try to import bookmarks this way, it says Unable to process the backup file. My Firefox profile has backups, but only as .json files, no HTML bookmark files, which is the only other importing option. The rest of my profile seems to have imported fine - when I go to my inboxes or regularly visited websites, I'm still logged in.

Strangely, Firefox also seems to have forgotten my browsing history. In the URL bar, it'll show my search history, but not my visited pages, which makes the lack of Bookmarks even more aggravating and harder to deal with.

Edit: I restarted the app again and this time, my bookmarks were in place, and my browsing history is back when I type into the URL bar. I do not know how to mark this question as solved or delete this question.

Hi guys~ for some reasons I can't add bookmarks on my firefox browsers. At first, the marked webpage will only show names but not the link, when i click on the bookmarks that i saved it won't direct me to page. Now even worse, the bookmark function doesn't work at all. I tried restore all my settings and redownloaded firefox three times, it's always the same problem. Also the history function doesn't store my current browsing history at all. I 100% sure I didn't change anything at the privacy section.

So I went to history, and then under "manage history" it organized it by "today", "yesterday", "last 7 days", "this month", "june", "may", "april", "march", "february" and "older than 6 months". And on right clicking on today, there was a drop down menu that was "open all in tabs", "delete" and "copy". "Copy" was super duper worthless, it literally just copied the word "today" into the clipboard, in case I really wanted to paste the word "today" the hard way into notepad or something. I wanted to then test if I could delete the history from just today without deleting the entire history, so FOOL that I am, I tried the delete choice. And what did it do? It deleted the ENTIRE CATEGORY of "today". Now it just says "yesterday", "last 7 days", "this month", "june", "may", "april", "march", "february" and "older than 6 months". Because it seems to think that by deleting "today", that means I NEVER AGAIN want to access any history of that day, of COURSE that must be what I intended to do when I chose delete. It couldn't possibly be that I wanted to delete the browsing history of today July 9 2021, no of course not, I must have wanted to delete the entire category of "today" for all time, why would anyone want to just delete the history of that day when they can delete the entire functionality of the browser to display any of the history of the current day ever again. I'm trying to imagine what was going through the developers' heads here. So, can I, get it back somehow? I'm not going using that computer now, in case something can be done to undo this that won't work if I do anything.

Recently FFox completely collapsed on me, no response to clicks anywhere. So I downloaded and reinstalled the program, only to find exactly the same happening.

So I decided on a completely clean install. Before I did that i installed Opera <ptooh> and imported my passwords and bookmarks from FFox.

Haven't as yet found a way of re-importing those items exported, but that's a worry for another day.

First problem is that even when I add Bookmarks using either Ctrl+D or the fancy start to the right of the address bar nothing gets added to Bookmarks.

Recent Bookmarks ?? Nothing

Manage Bookmarks ??? Not a thing.

Next problem is that despite being very active here there and everywhere on the web over the last few days since re-install - I HAVE NO HISTORY !!

Clicking on the three bars top right, and then on History >> Recent History gives me zilch. Nada. Nothing at all.

It took me days to eradicate almost every sign of Edge from this computer, but I'm starting to think that maybe I might like to try it, so please offer me some assistance with my FFox problems.
