I just had to reinstall firefox today, and now my bookmarks sidebar is on the right of the browser window. I want it back on the left side where it belongs, but I can't find any instructions on how to do that. I really don't like this. Am I going to need to just switch browsers altogether, or can I get my old firefox setup back?

Lately, whenever I click into a youtube video from within youtube, instead of Firefox blocking autoplay, it mutes the video but lets it play.

Initially, it was muting EVERY video I pulled up, but messing with my settings has fixed the problem if I click into a youtube video from elsewhere (ex. a google search result), or if I refresh the page. It's super annoying to having navigating youtube be this non-functional right now, though, since everything just silently plays until I catch and unmute it! Any help would be super appreciated!

I've noticed that Mozilla products (firefox, thunderbird etc) all phone home all the time, which is a violation of both my security as well as privacy policy. In the firewall one can observe persistent, periodic, repeated connections to various non-sanctioned sites and services, apparently run by Mozilla. These include, but are not limited to:

• .mozgcp.net
• .services.mozilla.net

firefox-portal-detection.com etc.

Specifically, there are persistent, periodic and repeated connection attempts to (just copy/pasting from the first page of firewall report; there are many more as well as similar connection attempts from thunderbird as well): firefox-settings-attachments.cdn.mozilla.net:443 assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net:443 content-signature-2.cdn.mozilla.net:443 push.services.mozilla.com:443 etc

These begin at the startup of the browser/mua and continue throughout the session. Given that none of the sites actually browsed have anything to do with mozilla per se, and given that various privacy-violating features such as DNS-over-HTTPS (yes, that's a not a privacy-enhancing feature but the opposite - it just shifts the surveillance point from the ISP to the DoH provider) and other similar "features" are disabled in-browser, there should be no user/browser connections attempted to mozilla servers.

Also, by setting up a local security MITM proxy in order to observe and analyze the content sent to and received from these services and configuring the browser to connect via the proxy, the browser seems to *stop* trying to connect to these services, which indicates *active* measures by the browser/mua to avoid it's browser-fingerprinting and location-revealing content from being intercepted and analyzed.

This is especially concerning as Mozilla actively brands and markets it's products as privacy-respecting, as for-user-rights and as away-from-big-tech-dominated. Consequently I perceive this as complete breach of trust. Even by just *attempting* such phone-home connections a leak of metadata occurs, identifying the IP, the browser and consequently the user and user's location, sometimes actively (such as was the case with now apparently discontinued location.services.mozilla.net). Combined with whatever content these connections carry, this constitutes a serious breach. And there seems to be no way for the user to configure the browser to stop making these connections, other than by using an external application firewall.

And to top it off, with Firefox version 155.0.1, the browser now outright refuses to connect to *any* sites at all if firefox.settings.services.mozilla.com:443, firefox-settings-attachments.cdn.mozilla.net:443, firefox-portal-detection.com:80 and content-signature-2.cdn.mozilla.net:443 are *externally* blocked, at least on that profile (which worked just fine prior to upgrade to 155.0.1), showing a spinner and waiting indefinitely (not even timing out). These are the *only* connections it even attempts, completely ignoring the actual site that it was told to connect to. So that's at least 4 privacy-violating, security-policy-violating phoning-home connection attempts and a complete disregard for user's actual, sanctioned connection request.

I'm on 153.0.4 (64-bit) and after the last update, drop-down arrows are non-functional. I use Firefox at work and the dashboards that I've been using can't be used because I can't make selections. I'm having to use Microsoft Edge (yuk).

Is there something I can do to restore the drop-down behavior?

Is there a way to make the desktop version of Firefox enable the VPN when ever it starts. I find it annoying to have to turn it on every single time I start firefox or open a new tab. Thanks

I’ve been having some connection issues while using Mozilla VPN with Firefox. Some websites either load very slowly or occasionally fail to open until I disconnect the VPN.

I’m trying to understand whether this is more likely to be related to Firefox, the VPN connection itself, or the server being used.

I’ve also been looking at other VPN options such as CometVPN and was wondering whether changing providers could realistically make a difference in this kind of situation, or whether I should first be checking Firefox/network settings.

Are there any specific DNS, proxy or Firefox settings that are worth checking when troubleshooting this type of VPN connection problem?

Why wouldn't 'BOOKMARKS" be the first (1st!) option instead of stupid never used history? Who let their 3 year old make this change??? I could not find a way to remove history from this useless section...only BOOKMARKS should be easier to find since we all use it the most.

The Bookmarks is the MOST important AND MOST OFTEN USED feature and should be back on top...so annoying and unnecessary!

The recent changes to the right-click menu on YouTube are a backward step. The menu is now cluttered with options I don't use, while the useful “Open in New Window” option has disappeared. I regularly use this function and having to use Shift+click instead is unnecessarily inconvenient. Please consider restoring “Open in New Window” to the context menu. Not every new feature is an improvement, and sometimes the simple, familiar options are the ones users actually want.

I am trying to create a separate, standalone Mozilla account using my work email address, but I am stuck in an account routing loop after deleting it as a secondary email from my personal account.

I added my work email as a secondary email to my personal Mozilla account long time ago, 4 days ago deleted the secondary email from my personal account settings to register it as a separate account instead.

Attempted to sign up at accounts.firefox.com, but the system automatically routes the email to the Sign In screen instead of the Sign Up screen. I encountered Error messages entering a password on the Sign-in screen displays: "Primary account email required for sign-in".

Then requesting a password reset displays: "Unknown account".

Troubleshooting Already Tried:

Tried signing up in Private/Incognito windows across multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome).

Waited over 72 hours for the system cache to clear, but the sign-in page still routes the address as an existing account.

Can you please escalate this to the Mozilla Accounts operations team to clear or purge the stale secondary email mapping for work email in the sign-in lookup index.
